We are honored to announce Artist of the Month, Lindsey Sherline!

Lindsey Sherline is an oil painter and artist-advocate dedicated to celebrating avian life. Her work centers on birds as a means of seeking joy, peace and connection with the natural world.
Sherline studied Fine Arts and Art History at U of M’s Stamp’s School of Art & Design and Parson’s School of Design. She exhibits in various galleries across the Metro Detroit area and actively supports organizations like the American Bird Conservancy and the Bird Center of Michigan.

Did you know you could make art during the Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair?

We believe community benefits when we create art together. You can see some of the work that was made during the fair last weekend in the library this month.

If you’d like to learn more about volunteering to help make this event the best, consider attending our meetings. The second Thursday of the month, 6:30pm at The Royal Oak First United Methodist Church.

Thank you to everyone who was at the fair today (Saturday). We loved watching our community enjoy a favorite summer tradition. If you missed it, you have one more chance to purchase unique artwork, talk with the artists, listen to live music and enjoy family art-making. We plan on continuing the fun tomorrow, June 28. 10am-5pm in Memorial Park.

If you want to be involved with our mission to enrich our community through the Arts, our next meeting is Thursday April 9th at 6:30pm.

The Royal Oak Arts Council is actively seeking new members and volunteers who believe access to the Arts matter.

You do not need to be an artist to join, simply a desire to help promote and support the fine and performing arts in our community.

As a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we fund scholarships, support local art organizations, and organize community art events — including the Royal Oak Outdoor Art Fair. Every dollar we raise goes directly back into the arts.

We’re expanding our programs and planning for new initiatives, and we’re looking for people who want to help make it happen.

Ways you can get involved:

· Social media and artist promotion
· Art Fair support and artist outreach
· Event planning and ex*****on
· Partnership development
· Website content and communications

There’s no cost to join — just a willingness to contribute your time to strengthening the Arts in Royal Oak.
