Cause For Paws Minnesota

Cause For Paws Minnesota It is a small all-volunteer group of friends who love cats and want to make a difference for cats in our community.

The small group's main focus is helping stray and abandoned cats and kittens find loving, permanent homes. Cats are fostered in volunteers' homes; there is no shelter facility.

Cause for Paws hosted a spay and neuter clinic on May 7th at Gustavus Adolphus church for owned cats of qualifying St. Paul residents. The surgeries were provided by MN SNAP's mobile surgery unit. The Saint Paul Jaycees provided grant dollars so that a spay or neuter was only $40 and Cause for Paws paid for the charges not covered by the Jaycees grant.

A total of 34 surgeries were done with the breakdown of 18 neuters and 16 spays. Think of the difference in the numbers of unwanted litters these surgeries will make.

This clinic filled up within three days of being announced. There is definitely a need for low cost spay and neuter services.

Many thanks to those who made this clinic successful: Gustavus Adolphus Church for offering the space, Saint Paul Jaycees for their financial support, Cause for Paws donors who helped fund the clinic, MN SNAP for offering this much needed service, and residents who brought their cats to the clinic for surgeries.

This charming young man is at the Petco adoption kennels in Roseville this weekend. He is about 1 year old and such a sweetheart! Here is his Petfinder bio: Eddie is a handsome, 1-year-old gray and black tabby with enough personality to fill a whole house. If you’re looking for a cat who is equal parts world-class athlete and devoted lap-warmer, Eddie is your guy. Eddie doesn't really do "chilling out" until his batteries are completely drained. He is usually on the move, investigating his surroundings or perfecting his play techniques. However, when he decides it’s time for a break, he doesn't just sit near you—he jumps right onto your chest for a quick snuggle and a well-deserved belly rub.
Eddie has a specific obsession with glitter balls. He doesn’t just bat them around; he fetches them and brings them back for more. He loves his humans so much that he stays right at your heels. You’ll want to watch your step, as he’s usually following close behind to see what you’re up to next. Eddie has a very important condition for his forever home: he needs to be adopted with his best buddy, Lucy Lou. They spend their days chasing each other around the house and provide each other with endless entertainment and comfort. Adopting this duo means double the purrs and a lifetime of watching their adorable antics. He has not met any dogs yet, so his reaction to them is unknown.
Eddie has been felv/fiv tested twice (negative), vaccinated, microchipped, and of course neutered. He is ready to go to his forever home.

Suzanna's happy ending. Suzanna was found as a stray in December and brought to the local shelter in northwest Minnesota. She was thin and estimated to be 15 years old.

She joined Cause for Paws early January and after having a dental procedure, senior blood work (results were not alarming for a senior gal), she was ready for adoption.

Suzanna was recently adopted and is enjoying the spoiled life. We truly thank the adopter for adopting this senior gal and giving her a nice safe place to enjoy her golden years.
