It’s time to start thinking about Zonta International awards and scholarships. The first award is the Zonta Women in Leadership Award. If you qualify, consider submitting an application with Zonta of Roscommon. PO Box 31, Roscommon, MI 48653
The due date to the club is October 20, 2026.
Ten awards of $5,000 will be granted Internationally. Note: this is an award to be used as the recipient wants/needs.

ELIGIBILITY
Women, aged 18-35 at the time of application, who demonstrate evidence of the following, are eligible to apply.

-Exceptional leadership in a business-related field of study or industry.
-Entrepreneurial spirit.
-Ethical conduct.
-Significant contributions to addressing global or local issues affecting women and girls or climate justice.

Because Zonta International believes in gender equality, the Jane M. Klausman (JMK) Women in Business Scholarship program helps women pursue undergraduate and master's degrees in business management and overcome gender barriers from the classroom to

Happy 19th Amendment Day!
If you are inclined to read more, here is a bit of history to outline the suffragette movement.
106 years ago today, women were granted the right to vote.

The first women's rights convention is held in Seneca Falls, New York. There, 68 women and 32 men sign a Declaration of Sentiments, which modeled on the Declaration of Independence, outlines grievances and sets the agenda for the women's rights movem

If this sounds like something you would like to learn more about, join us at our next meeting.
We typically meet the first Monday of the month. With the Labor Day Holiday, it will be the second Monday in September - the 14th- join us to learn more about how you can become a member of Zonta of Riscommon County Area.
Meetings are at 6:00 pm at the Au Sable River Center 211 N Main Street, Roscommon.

Zonta of Roscommon members Cherie Johnson, Theresa Ekdom, Anna Sylvester & Monica Lack at the Zonta International
Convention in Vancouver, Canada.
And about half of the attendees (750 or so) participated in the Zonta Says Now to Gender Equal Climate Action 3k walk, including Theresa, Anna & Denise.

Zonta of Roscommon donated a gift basket to the Roscommon Library to raffle in their summer reading program. Included are at least $150 worth of books geared towards tween girls (boys are welcome to enter too!).
Make sure your children/grandchildren read this summer and enter to win a lot of books.
