This is not the post we ever wanted to make, but it is the one we must make.
First, we need you all to know how much you mean to LDR. You have come together as a community to help many animals. From donations, shares, likes, adoptions, and more, we have met incredible people on this journey, and we will forever be grateful. We want to make it clear that there are no hard feelings towards the people who could no longer help with the rescue mission. Every bit of help made a big impact! We have been running LDR by for a few months with minimal help, and that help has been appreciated beyond belief! You know who you are. This isn't something we can do full-time with a full-time job. We have been managing and putting in my best efforts, but it has become too much for us , and we are not getting enough sleep. This includes phone calls, replying to messages, purchasing supplies, animal care, maintaining my home, adoption applications, adoption interviews, maintaining records of every purchase and donation, scheduling vet appointments, posts, photos, transportation, and no time for fundraisers or to keep our sanity.
We love rescue and every part of it, but the resources just aren't there. This has been a heavy consideration for months, and we have tried to make it work in every way we can, but it is not physically possible for us to manage all these things. All these tasks are done by volunteer, and we do not profit a single dollar. This is just a love for animals, and every dollar has gone towards helping them.
This is not the end of my animal rescue mission, as we will be assisting another rescue once these current animals find their homes. We have not chosen a rescue to help yet with fostering. With that being said, we have some kitties still in LDR's care that need homes. Please share this post to help get these loving animals adopted! It would mean the world to them and me.
