✨ ONLY 3 MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS IN THE VILLAGE! ✨🎄
Can you believe it? In just three months, downtown Roscommon will once again come alive with the sights, sounds and traditions of Christmas in the Village! ❤️🎅
Christmas in the Village is more than a holiday festival — it’s a cherished part of Roscommon’s history.
The tradition began with a simple Christmas tree lighting and community caroling, with the Higgins Township Fire Department decorating the large tree at Lake and 4th Streets. Over the years, the celebration grew to include hot cocoa, c***r, doughnuts, hayrides, luminaries, burn barrels, chestnut roasting and, of course, a visit from Santa.
In 1994, Judy Kominek formed the Christmas in the Village committee, helping shape the event into the community-wide celebration we know today. Volunteers, local organizations and businesses continued adding new traditions, including craft shows, children’s activities, a Santa House, concerts, wood-carving demonstrations and more.
Today, Christmas in the Village continues to bring generations together in downtown Roscommon. The celebration has become a wonderful reminder of what makes our community special — tradition, volunteerism, generosity and neighbors coming together. ❤️
And now… the countdown begins!
