What an exciting season for Community Partnership of Rocky Mount! ❤️🏘️

Over the past few weeks, we've had several opportunities to celebrate milestones that reflect the hard work, dedication, and belief that so many people have invested in our community.

✨ Community Partnership of Rocky Mount was designated as a 2026 Main Street America Affiliate program, recognizing our commitment to preserving the character of the Rocky Mount Historic District while supporting local businesses, fostering community engagement, and building a strong future for our town.

🏆 Rocky Mount Fest was honored with the 2026 Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development Virginia Main Street Merit Award for Promotional Innovation, recognizing the positive impact that creative, community-focused events can have in strengthening community identity, attracting visitors, supporting local businesses, and enhancing the economic vitality of the Historic District. As Town of Rocky Mount, Virginia continues its Main Street journey, receiving one of only five statewide Merit Awards is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together around a shared vision.

💙 And there's more! Community Partnership has officially received 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, meaning that donations made to support our mission are now tax-deductible. This important milestone opens new doors for sponsorships, fundraising, and long-term sustainability as we continue creating vibrant experiences, supporting local businesses, and strengthening our community.

What's especially remarkable is that much of this progress has happened in a relatively short period of time. The leadership, passion, and commitment of the Community Partnership Board of Directors have helped guide the organization through an exciting season of growth and achievement. Through strategic planning, countless volunteer hours, and a shared belief in the future of Rocky Mount and Franklin County, VA, our board members have played an important role in helping move these initiatives forward.

None of these accomplishments belong to one person or one organization. They belong to the volunteers who give their time, the business owners who invest in Rocky Mount and Franklin County, the sponsors who support our initiatives, the board members who provide leadership, the Town staff and elected officials who champion these efforts, and the residents who show up, participate, and believe in the future of our community.

Interested in becoming a sponsor or making a tax-deductible donation? We'd love to talk with you! Please reach out to any Community Partnership board member to learn more about how you can support the work happening within our Community.

Want to get more involved? Community Partnership is always looking for active volunteers who are passionate about our community. Whether you're interested in serving on a committee, exploring future board participation, or simply lending a helping hand at events, we'd love to hear from you. Send us a message to learn more about how you can share in our mission of creating a vibrant, connected, and economically strong Rocky Mount.

📅 Mark your calendars! Our next Community Partnership Quarterly Meeting will be held on Thursday, July 9, from 5:00–7:00 PM. Join us as we celebrate these recent successes, share updates on upcoming initiatives, and continue building momentum together.

Thank you for being part of this journey. The Heart of Rocky Mount is strong because of the people who call this community home. ❤️

🎉 Congratulations to Franklin County's own Anna Prillaman Robertson on being recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as Virginia's representative in its national feature, *50 States, 50 People*.

As a fourth-generation distiller and co-owner of Twin Creeks Distillery, Anna continues to preserve and share the rich heritage that has made Town of Rocky Mount, Virginia and Franklin County, VA known around the world. Her recognition is not only a testament to her passion and dedication, but also a celebration of the people, traditions, and small businesses that make Rocky Mount and Franklin County such a special place.

At Community Partnership, we're proud to see one of our own—and one of our valued local businesses—receiving national recognition.

Congratulations, Anna and Twin Creeks Distillery! ❤️

This Main Street America Affiliate designation is the result of collaboration between volunteers, business owners, property owners, partners, local government, and community members who share a vision for the Town of Rocky Mount, Virginia future.

We’re proud of this milestone, but there is still work ahead as we continue our journey toward Main Street America Accreditation. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible!

While this event took place last weekend, we still feel it's important to share and celebrate.

For those who may not know, on the last Saturday of every month, Kid's Castoffs hosts a free community giveaway. Their sidewalk is stocked with FREE items including clothing, shoes, toys, baby equipment, accessories, and much more.

These events represent the very best of community spirit—helping families, supporting children, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. It's a simple act of generosity that creates a lasting impact.

We wanted to take a moment to highlight the incredible work they are doing so we can not only celebrate their efforts, but also support them.

Kid's Castoffs is located at 924 Tanyard Road, across from McDonald's. If you know a family that could benefit from these monthly giveaways, please help spread the word.

Thank you, Kid's Castoffs, for your commitment to our community and for making a difference one family at a time. ❤️
