Just $20 will help us put 15 books into the hands of Franklin County children whose parents may be struggling to put food on the table and gas in the car. Books are a luxury for many, but remember: “The single most significant factor influencing a child’s early educational success is an introduction to books and being read to at home prior to beginning school.” National Commission on Reading

In just two years, the Franklin County Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has brought books to over 1,800 young children in our county. With one book mailed to these children every month, that's over 21,000 books! Help our Library Foundation continue this great program by donating on March 18th through SML Gives!

The largest-ever shared book reading study finds that Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library dramatically improves early literacy for children in Franklin County. Children are 11 times more likely to be interested in books and 15 times more likely to join in during shared reading compared to children not in the program.
