LOYALTY.

If there is one word that defines a German Shepherd, it’s loyalty.

Meet Jebediah — Jeb for short.

Jeb is a 5-year-old, 92-pound German Shepherd looking for his person.

Jeb is fiercely loyal and happiest when he’s right by your side. He’s a quiet, well-mannered dog in the home who is perfectly content settling in beside his person.

But get him outside and the goofy side comes out.

Jeb absolutely romps around with his dog friends like a total goober, breaks into spectacular zoomies, loves pool time, and chases bugs like it’s his full-time job.

He is dog-friendly with slow, proper introductions. He would also likely be kid-friendly due to his temperament but would probably be best with bigger kids. He can be nervous when meeting new people or dogs, but once he has time to realize you’re a friend, he warms up beautifully and becomes your buddy for life.

Jeb is crate-trained, fully potty-trained, and knows basic obedience. He does not require a fenced yard, but he will need to learn reliable recall before being trusted off-leash.

Jeb does have a prey drive, so he needs a home without cats or other small animals.

At the end of the day, Jeb really just wants one thing: his person. Someone he can follow around, sit beside, play with, and love with that unmistakable German Shepherd devotion.

Meet Dottie girl!

Dottie is a 50 pound, 5 month old ball of feisty fire. She is a chronic talker who has no problem telling you how she feels. The little land shark is smart as can be, and she’s getting the last word.

She is a funny pup who loves other dogs and people. She does show some signs of fearful barking at a fence line or on a leash when another dog is nearby, but once they are introduced she immediately rolls on her back and is friendly. With more exposure to other dogs she should be able to correct her little attitude problem! A home with another dog would be a fun time, but if she’s the solo pup she will need mental and physical enrichment. She has not been around cats, but does show signs of prey drive.

Dottie has lived with young kids, and still needs help redirecting her puppy energy & teeth when she gets excited. She does great when you redirect her with toys or bones.

Dottie is completely kennel and potty trained, and will even go and sit at the door when she’s ready to go outside. She’s still learning her recall, and definitely needs to have a fence or be walked on a leash at all times. She loves to play fetch, and will drop the ball when she brings it back to you. She also knows how to sit, shake, and has almost mastered down. Her leash manners are in the works.

She has a quirky bunny hop when she runs for too long, and the vets say her knees are still catching up with her growth plates. She shows no signs of pain or injury, and it’s a good possibility that any issues will naturally correct themselves as she continues to grow.

Meet Flynn! This 3 year old, 69 pound, drop-dead gorgeous guy has a perfect black saddleback marking and stunning, light amber eyes – this dude is quite the looker! Handsome, but not one bit conceited. He is completely oblivious to his good looks. He does, however, love a good time! He is the first to play and the last to leave the playground. He literally plays all day long but when the day is done and he’s settled comfortably in his beloved crate, he promptly conks out and will stay that way for the night. Flynn loves his bright orange Kong toy and will faithfully carry his beloved Kong around all day and night. He loves to fetch and is so smart that he has learned the difference between “Catch” (grab the kong in mid-air) and “Fetch” ( run to the end of the yard and let it bounce once). He knows to “drop it” in the same place for the next toss. He’s crate trained and loves his crate and will often go in it for naps and short rests during the day. Flynn responds to some basic commands. He’ll sit even when it’s darn hard to do so! Flynn has learned to cuddle. He does love to be touched, however, and will stand perfectly still for long periods of time if his ears and neck are getting scratched. He gets along well with all other dogs and doesn’t mind a busy house with lots of visitors and more new humans to meet. He does love his new life!! He wants to be by his humans all the time. If he’s outside, you can find him staring in the window and wondering where you are! He does well with older kids but hasn’t been tested on younger ones just yet. He greets all adult visitors in a friendly way, always eager to meet someone new to play with! Flynn gets along beautifully with his fur foster sister and can often get her in the spirit of a good game of chase! Flynn is fully house trained and now whines when he has to go outside. He has also made huge strides with his leash manners. He is quite mesmerized by cats and so a home without them is best. Flynn shows little interest in the world outside of our 4 foot fence. He knows that life is good on the inside! If you are looking for a loyal, fun and energetic best friend, Flynn just might be your man! URGENT adopter or foster home(s) NEEDED!

Lucy (left) and Noelle (right), now known as Suki and Nisha, were taken in by the rescue after they were confiscated from a cruelty situation 5 years ago. They were adopted 4 years ago and recently lost their adoptive family because they moved - to Los Angeles. Both are roughly 6 years old and are dog, kid and cat friendly. While it would be ideal for them to be kept together, they can be separated but would do best having a companion animal in their new homes. They are housebroken, crate trained and are taking joint supplements. Lucy would do best in a quieter environment and can be a flight risk in unfamiliar situations. Meet Bo Peep from the Toy Story Litter!
Bo Peep, also known as Breeze, is an 18 week old sweet, playful, high-energy 16-pound girl with a huge personality and an even bigger love for belly rubs. When she wants attention, she’ll walk right up to you with her ears tucked back, sit patiently, and the moment you reach down to pet her, she’ll roll onto her back and happily accept belly rubs for as long as you’re willing to give them!
She loves to play and is great at entertaining herself with toys, but she also loves interactive play with her people and another dog. Bo Peep has lots of puppy energy, so she would do best with an active household, likely one with another dog, that can give her plenty of playtime, exercise, enrichment, and attention. She currently lives with children.
Bo Peep is doing very well with her training. She already knows “sit” and “down,” is crate trained, and sleeps comfortably in her crate through the night. Her potty training is also coming along nicely. She does most of her business outside and understands that outside is where she is supposed to go, although she can still have an occasional accident if she isn’t taken out on time. She has minimal experience with the leash and will definitely need work with that.
These days, Bo Peep spends most of her time outside of a playpen. She’s actually quite talented at figuring out how to escape one, so a puppy-proofed area is definitely recommended! She’s still learning to stay by your side, so a 4-foot fence would be best for the little wanderer.
Like many curious puppies, Bo Peep explores the world with her mouth. She loves picking things up and may try to swallow things she shouldn’t, so her new family will need to keep an eye on her and keep tempting objects out of reach. When she gets really excited during play, she can also become a little mouthy, but she has been making good progress as she learns appropriate play manners.
Bo Peep loves to chew, so durable toys are her favorite. Soft plush toys don’t tend to survive very long around her, and because she may try to eat pieces she tears off, the foster home sticks with strong plush toys, chew toys, and other durable puppy-safe options.
Bo Peep would be a wonderful match for someone looking for an affectionate, energetic, goofy puppy who wants to be part of everything you’re doing.
