Meet Rhino - Your New Best Friend!

At 8 years old and 100 pounds, this gentle giant has perfected the art of being the best companion you could ask for, he has a true heart of gold. He’s the kind of dog who is just as happy joining you for an adventure as he is relaxing by your side at home. He has an incredible ability to match your energy, whether you’re ready to play or simply unwind, he’s right there with you.

His favorite pastime? Chasing a ball! And if you turn on a garden hose, get ready to see his playful side come to life. Few things make him happier than splashing around in the water with a big grin on his face. He also thinks ice cubes are the greatest treats ever, making snack time both simple and fun.

This sweet boy truly loves everyone he meets. He gets along wonderfully with people, children, (probably better with children over 10 due to his size), other dogs, cats, chickens, and even ducks. His calm, easygoing nature makes him an exceptional fit for just about any family.

He enjoys going for car rides and will happily hop in with just a little assistance. Taking him along will be a breeze since he walks well on the leash. He doesn’t require a fenced yard, making him a great match for families with a variety of living situations, as long as he gets the love and exercise he deserves. One of his best qualities is how well he listens—he’s attentive, eager to please, and a joy to have around. Rhino doesn’t love a crate but he is such a gentleman at home he doesn’t need one when left alone. He’s house trained and will go out when everyone goes outside.

Like many dogs, he has had some recurring ear infections, but they’re now mostly under control. His future family should simply be prepared to continue basic preventative ear care, such as occasional ear drops, which he accepts without any fuss.

Meet Bo Peep from the Toy Story Litter!
Bo Peep, also known as Breeze, is an 18 week old sweet, playful, high-energy 16-pound girl with a huge personality and an even bigger love for belly rubs. When she wants attention, she’ll walk right up to you with her ears tucked back, sit patiently, and the moment you reach down to pet her, she’ll roll onto her back and happily accept belly rubs for as long as you’re willing to give them!
She loves to play and is great at entertaining herself with toys, but she also loves interactive play with her people and another dog. Bo Peep has lots of puppy energy, so she would do best with an active household, likely one with another dog, that can give her plenty of playtime, exercise, enrichment, and attention. She currently lives with children.
Bo Peep is doing very well with her training. She already knows “sit” and “down,” is crate trained, and sleeps comfortably in her crate through the night. Her potty training is also coming along nicely. She does most of her business outside and understands that outside is where she is supposed to go, although she can still have an occasional accident if she isn’t taken out on time. She has minimal experience with the leash and will definitely need work with that.
These days, Bo Peep spends most of her time outside of a playpen. She’s actually quite talented at figuring out how to escape one, so a puppy-proofed area is definitely recommended! She’s still learning to stay by your side, so a 4-foot fence would be best for the little wanderer.
Like many curious puppies, Bo Peep explores the world with her mouth. She loves picking things up and may try to swallow things she shouldn’t, so her new family will need to keep an eye on her and keep tempting objects out of reach. When she gets really excited during play, she can also become a little mouthy, but she has been making good progress as she learns appropriate play manners.
Bo Peep loves to chew, so durable toys are her favorite. Soft plush toys don’t tend to survive very long around her, and because she may try to eat pieces she tears off, the foster home sticks with strong plush toys, chew toys, and other durable puppy-safe options.
Bo Peep would be a wonderful match for someone looking for an affectionate, energetic, goofy puppy who wants to be part of everything you’re doing. Meet Lilypad, also known as Skye!
Lilypad from the Toy Story Litter is the kind of puppy who wants to know what’s happening, where you’re going, and whether she can come too. She is a 15-pound and 18 week old confident, curious, and always ready to explore something-new type of girl. New room? She’s checking it out. New toy? She’s investigating it. Something interesting happening across the room? Lilypad is probably already on her way over.
But underneath that adventurous personality is a total cuddle bug. One of Lilypad’s favorite things is being picked up and held like a baby. She’ll settle right into your arms and happily enjoy the attention, making her a fun mix of energetic explorer and affectionate little snuggler. She is currently in a foster home with kids and would enjoy that in her future home.
Lilypad is also doing really well with potty training. She has learned to wait by the door when she needs to go outside, which makes it much easier to recognize when it’s potty time. She is still a puppy, though, so if her signal is missed or she has to wait too long, an accident can happen.
She already knows “sit” and “down” and continues to learn quickly. She is also crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night. Lilypad has minimal leash experience and will need some training with that.
Lilypad has plenty of energy and loves playtime, whether she’s playing with you, another dog, or keeping herself busy with a toy. She would thrive with a family that enjoys being active, likely has another dog, and can give her plenty of opportunities to play, explore, learn, and burn off that puppy energy. Because of this, a 4-foot fence is recommended for her!
And speaking of toys… Lilypad is definitely a chewer! She can make quick work of softer plush toys and may try to swallow pieces that she tears off, so durable chew toys and tougher plush toys are the better choice for her. She is also very curious about objects she finds around the house and likes putting things in her mouth, so good puppy-proofing and supervision are important.
When she gets especially excited, Lilypad can become a little mouthy during play, but she has been improving as she learns better puppy manners.
Lilypad is looking for a family that will appreciate her adventurous spirit, keep up with her energy, continue her training, and still make plenty of room for cuddle time.

Say hello to Bonnie from the Toy Story Litter, a beautiful 18-week-old, 20 pound Shepherd girl with a soft heart, a curious mind, and a serious love for playtime.
Bonnie absolutely loves other dogs and can happily spend her day playing with her canine friends. She’s especially fond of a good game of chase and fetch and will happily run after a ball whenever you’re ready to play.
When it comes to people, Bonnie is a little more reserved. She can be shy at first and isn’t a huge fan of being petted just yet. But Bonnie has her own way of showing affection: she loves to curl up beside her person with her favorite bone and simply enjoys being close. Once she trusts you, that quiet companionship is pretty special.
Interestingly, Bonnie is especially comfortable with kids and has formed a wonderful bond with the foster home's 9-year-old child. She seems to find something about kids particularly reassuring, and watching her come out of her shell with them has been incredibly sweet.
Bonnie is also one smart cookie. She’s a good listener, has a decent start on her recall, and has already figured out how to communicate with her people. She’s a girl who believes her humans should be kept informed! If her water bowl is empty, she’ll let you know. If she wants to go outside, she’ll let you know that too. Because of that Bonnie is nearly house-trained with only the occasional accident. Bonnie is also crate trained and is making good progress with her leash work but will need continued training with that.
She lives with cats and free-range chickens and is much more curious than prey-driven around them. She may investigate and wants to follow along, but she doesn’t have the same strong chase instinct some puppies do. As with any puppy, she’ll still need supervision and continued training around smaller animals.
Bonnie will need a securely fenced yard, preferably 4 feet tall or higher, both for her safety and so she has plenty of room to run, play, chase her ball, and continue practicing her recall.
Bonnie may not be the puppy who immediately jumps into every stranger’s lap — and that’s okay. She’s a girl who takes a little time to feel comfortable, and once she does, she wants to be near you, beside you, and part of your world.
She’s smart. She’s playful. She’s wonderfully quirky. And she has so much love waiting for the person who is willing to earn her trust.

Hi, I’m Giggle from the Toy Story Litter, and I’m pretty sure I can make you smile just by looking at you! I’m a 20 pound, 18-week-old German Shepherd puppy girl with a big heart and playful spirit. My favorite place is right next to my people, and if you’re willing to pick me up and give me some love, I’ll happily soak it all in.
I’m your classic happy, energetic puppy, so I’m looking for a family who is ready for puppy adventures, training, playtime, and lots of love. I’ll need a securely fenced yard, preferably 4 feet tall or higher, while I continue working on my recall and learning all those important puppy manners.
I LOVE other dogs and have enjoyed spending time with canine friends. I also live with two cats and free-range chickens! I’m still learning that everyone doesn’t necessarily want to be chased when I’m feeling playful, so my new family will need to continue working with me on those manners and give me appropriate supervision around smaller animals.
I’m already doing really well with potty training (just the odd accident here or there), I'm crate trained, making progress on the leash, and I’m a great little car rider. I’m learning more every day and am eager to please.
But my favorite thing? People (big and small). I love being around them, being held, and making that sweet eye contact that makes you feel like I’m looking straight into your heart.

Giggle is going to make an absolutely wonderful companion for someone who is ready to help a puppy grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be.

Meet Axle – your loving and affectionate new best friend! This 1-year-old, 55-pound boy is sure to steal your heart and get plenty of second looks with his beautiful coat coloration and stunning light brown eyes. Axle enjoys spending time with his foster family and will chase his tennis ball until the cows come home. Ball is LIFE, and plushy toys don’t stand a chance!

Axle prefers to stay active and enjoys playing fetch, going for walks, his peanut butter kong, and gnawing on his busy bones. If he had to pick a favorite hobby though, he’d pick snuggling in a heartbeat. This sweet boy doesn’t just want to snuggle you, he wants to mold his whole body up against you…or be held like a baby, whichever you will let him! Axle loves to be loved and will return it tenfold!

With Axle’s athletic abilities and energy, he will require a 6-foot fence. Once he has had an opportunity to exercise, he happily goes to his crate on command and is content to sit quietly while he enjoys his peanut butter kong. Axle knows the commands sit, stay, leave it, come, crate, and is working on lay down. He is housebroken but still piddles himself from time-to-time when overly excited or nervous.

Axle loves all people, including children, and will greet you with a big bear hug if he’s never had the pleasure of meeting you before…he’s actively working to learn it’s best to keep all four paws on the ground. While Axle does well with all people, he prefers slow, respectful introductions to fellow four-legged friends. Axle is a rough and tumble playmate and prefers friends that will reciprocate his wrestling or not be too upset with his persistent pawing. This boy loves to get rowdy with his best dog buds! Axle prefers playful, energetic, and more submissive dogs and is reactive to dogs that display dominant behaviors. Axle has not interacted with any cats while in his foster home so it is unknown how he’d do in a home with cats or other small animals. Ventura is a beautiful 2.5-year-old, 78 pound girl looking for a patient family to show her what it truly means to be loved.

If you’re looking for a moderately energetic dog who wants to be your shadow, Ventura is your girl. She wants to be with her people all the time—whether that’s curled up on the couch, snuggled in bed, or simply following you from room to room.

Ventura seems to bond more quickly with women and needs a little time to warm up and trust men. She reacts to men the same way she reacts to loud voices and sudden noises - fearfully - in that she may cower or walk away, looking for a safe space. As a result, she’ll do best in a calm, patient home. We think Ventura will do well with children but because of her nervousness, we don’t think she’d be the best fit for a home with young children; older and calmer children would be best.

She gets along well with cats (she mostly ignores them!) and has done best with male dogs. She absolutely loves to run and play chase with other dogs, but she is very fast and should be considered at flight risk until she’s fully settled into her new home. Secure doors, fences, and a little extra caution will be important.

Ventura enjoys car rides, although she’s convinced she’d make an excellent co-pilot if you let her ride up front. She also did great during her bath, so water doesn’t seem to bother her at all.

She’s still learning the basics and hasn’t had much formal training, so she’ll need help with manners and commands. She’s a bit of a bull in a china shop at times, but she’s food -motivated, which will make training much easier. Ventura is improving on her leash skills and has learned a few basic commands.

House training is still a work in progress. She seems a little unsure about the backyard, almost as if she’s never really had the freedom to enjoy one before. Sometimes she needs encouragement to go outside, and she’s had a couple of accidents because of that. She’s already beginning to let her foster family know when she needs to go, and with patience and consistency, we think she’ll continue to improve.

Ventura isn’t a fan of being crated by herself, but she settles much better if another dog is nearby. At night, she sleeps quietly in her crate as long as it’s in the room with her people. She recently successfully transitioned to sleeping outside of the crate next to her foster parents' bed.

She would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day—someone who works from home or is retired would be ideal. More than anything, Ventura needs someone willing to give her time. She won’t instantly trust everyone, but every day she becomes a little braver, a little more confident, and a little more affectionate.

Keep an eye on your trash cans as she may scavenge for treats. If anyone knocks on your door, don’t worry—her bark is impressive enough to send those pesky solicitors on their way!

Ventura isn’t looking for perfection. She’s looking for someone who will see past her fears, celebrate her progress, and give her the love she’s been ywaiting for all along. We truly believe that person is out there.

Meet Jessie: Your Future Best Friend (and Fetch MVP)

Jessie isn’t just a good girl—she’s a 6 year old, 65 pound professional good girl with a gold medal in fetch and a heart big enough to match her energy. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who brings joy, laughter, and a little playful chaos into your life, Jessie is ready to clock in full-time as your best friend.

After being found as a stray in Union County, Jessie spent a month waiting patiently in a shelter before getting her second chance with Freedom German Shepherd Rescue. Since then, she has absolutely blossomed in her foster home—proving every single day that she’s got star quality.

Fetch is life. Got a ball? You’ve got Jessie’s full attention—and her whole heart. She'll be your instant bestie. She greets everyone like she’s known them forever (tail wagging at top speed included). She has big smiles, goofy charm, and a contagious zest for life. Jessie’s past only makes her shine brighter—she’s ready for her happy ending. She's also low drama… mostly. Unless the ball rolls under the couch. Then it’s a full investigation.

Jessie has successfully integrated with her foster fur-siblings, but she does best with thoughtful introductions and structure.
She needs a proper decompression period and slow introductions are required for her. She is toy/ball possessive at first. Around unfamiliar dogs, she can be protective of her prized possessions (especially balls), but it improves with time. After a few months with her foster siblings, she no longer “hogs” toys—but her current housemates aren’t very toy-driven, which helps. Jessie could live with the right canine companion after a careful introduction process, or she would absolutely thrive as the only pet soaking up all the attention. With that being said, Jessie has no known experience with cats. Due to her moderately dominant and high-drive personality, a cat-free home is recommended.

Jessie is very athletic & agile and can easily clear a 4’ fence. A minimum 6’ high fenced yard is strongly recommended to keep her safe while she plays and burns off energy. She is also housebroken and has done so well in her foster home that she has not been introduced to crate training because she is trusted to free roam when noone is home.

Jessie would thrive in an active home where she can play, explore, and—most importantly—fetch to her heart’s content. Whether she’s your one-and-only or joins a well-matched dog sibling with a proper introduction plan, she’ll reward you with endless loyalty, laughter, and love.
