SAVES Project Welcome to The S.A.V.E.S Project!

We are a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on connecting vulnerable person, the community, and first responders through education and awareness. The S.A.V.E.S Project was established in 2025 by the Rochester police department to promote awareness and educate first responders, the community and the family or guardians of vulnerable person. Our goal with S.A.V.E.S is to foster a safer, more

compassionate community by developing a comprehensive and empathetic program. Through education, awareness and tailored engagement, we strive to build trust, ensure safety and promote inclusion of all vulnerable persons, honoring the dignity and unique needs of every individual.

I want to take a moment and once again show my appreciation to Chief Rouhib and the Rochester Police Michigan.

We have come a long way with this project. What started as a side task of reviewing the department vulnerable person binder when I had returned to work after having surgery, turned into us starting an entire organization.

We focus on standards, education, safety, awareness, and so much more. There is so much planned for the future and things are moving quick.

So once again, thank you to Chief Rouhib for believing in us. We wouldn't be here without you!!

Police Chief’s Message
NEW PROGRAM

I am pleased to announce our newly developed program-S.A.V.E.S. Project. S.A.V.E.S. stands for Special Needs, Autism, Vulnerable Persons, Elderly, and Safety. Our mission with the S.A.V.E.S Project is to strengthen the bonds between first responders and individuals living with cognitive or developmental challenges such as autism, dementia, or traumatic brain injuries. Through this program, we aim to foster understanding, improve communication, and ensure the safety of all community members.

The S.A.V.E.S. Project is more than just a program; it is a promise to our vulnerable neighbors that they are seen, valued, and protected. It comprises three key components designed to make a meaningful difference:

1. S.A.V.E.S Project ID
2. Blue Envelope Program
3. Community Education

S.A.V.E.S. Project ID
We will provide personalized QR-coded stickers for your loved ones, which can be affixed to belongings, clothing, or devices. If a loved one wanders or becomes lost, a trained officer can quickly scan the sticker and access critical information such as emergency contacts, medical details, or special needs to facilitate a safe and quick return.

Blue Envelope Program
For individuals with special needs or medical conditions who operate vehicles, they can register with us and will receive a S.A.V.E.S. packet for their convenience. They are instructed to place a copy of their license, registration, and proof of insurance, and an “About Me” form in the supplied blue envelope and place it on their car visor. Additionally, they are encouraged to display a S.A.V.E.S logo on their rear window. If stopped by law enforcement, the logo will serve as a visual cue, promoting understating, empathy, and patience. This aims to foster positive interactions and reduce stress during encounters. If any issues arise, officers will have immediate access to vital information within the blue envelope. In addition, the individuals will receive a traffic stop tip sheet.

The third component is community outreach. Our diverse organizational board will lead outreach efforts to educate officers and the public about supporting community members with cognitive and developmental challenges, including our elderly population. This education aims to promote awareness, understanding, and compassionate engagement.

This program is made possible through grants and generous donations, reflecting our community’s commitment to inclusivity and safety. We invite you to learn more at savesproject.com. or follow us on our Facebook at [email protected].

We are proud to be the only law enforcement agency in Michigan offering a program of this kind, and our hope is that every law enforcement agency in Michigan will adopt this initiative.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to making our community a better place for all. Please share with everyone.

A few individuals were observant enough to notice something very special that I keep in my front pocket of my duty vest. This is more than just a "toy" that I use for high stress situations with vulnerable persons who are overstimulated. "Officer Jenny" is my partner and has helped me through many incidents where de-escalation was desperately needed.

It is important to think outside the box. It is also important to listen to what the individuals you are serving like, need, and want. I have connected with so many people just by showing my partner.

At S.A.V.E.S Project, our goal is to help our participants in every way. We will continue to promote safety, awareness, and education and always welcome feedback!

Feel free to reach out to us through our website at www.savesproject.com or send us an email at support@savesproject com.

Sincerely,

Ofc. Brenna

💙 WE DON'T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE 💙

There are incredible organizations doing incredible work in our communities every single day.

Different names.
Different programs.
Different approaches.

But often, the same mission

To protect people.
To educate families.
To support vulnerable populations.
To empower first responders.
To make our communities safer.

At S.A.V.E.S Project, we believe that when our missions align, we shouldn't compete, we should collaborate.🤝

We don't need to reinvent the wheel.

If someone has already created a resource that works, let's share it.
If another organization has expertise we don't have, let's learn from them.
If we have something that can help another organization, let's give it.

Because every hour spent unnecessarily duplicating work is an hour that could have been spent reaching another family, educating another person, supporting another first responder, or making another community safer.

Collaboration doesn't make your organization smaller.
It makes the entire mission bigger.

Imagine what happens when organizations stop working in silos and start working together.

🔹 Resources are shared.
🔹 Knowledge spreads faster.
🔹 Communities are reached more effectively.
🔹 Programs become stronger.
🔹 Families have more support.
🔹 And ultimately, more people are helped.

That is the kind of impact we want to be part of.

S.A.V.E.S Project is proud to support organizations that are working toward these same goals. We believe there is room at the table for everyone who is genuinely committed to making a difference.

We don't want to be the only organization doing the work.

We want to be one of many organizations working together to do it better. 💙

So if you're an organization, nonprofit, law enforcement agency, first responder, school, community group, or other organization serving vulnerable populations, let's talk.

Maybe we can partner.
Maybe we can share resources.
Maybe we can connect you with someone who can help.
Maybe you can help us.

Maybe, together, we can accomplish something neither of us could do alone.

📩 Interested in partnering with S.A.V.E.S Project? Reach out to us. We'd love to start the conversation.

Don't reinvent the wheel.
Build on it.
Share it.
Strengthen it.
And keep moving forward together. 💙

What a fun event!! Our Mini Administrator Christina and I were able to walk around and see all of our partners, thank them personally and snag a few quick photos. We even reached out to a few more agencies.

Thank you all who came out to visit us and we hope you are having as much fun as us!!

💙 It takes a community to protect a community. 💙

Every day, the S.A.V.E.S Project works to make our communities safer by providing innovative programs, education, and resources that support individuals with autism, dementia, cognitive and developmental disabilities, and other vulnerable populations while equipping first responders with the tools they need to respond safely and effectively.

But none of this happens without support.

As a nonprofit organization, we rely on donations, grants, and community partnerships to continue developing life-saving programs, expanding our outreach, and providing valuable resources to the families and agencies we serve. Every dollar donated helps us move our mission forward and brings us one step closer to creating safer communities for everyone.

Just as important are the incredible people who give something even more valuable than money, their time.

To our amazing volunteers: thank you. Whether you're helping at community events, preparing materials, educating the public, or working behind the scenes, your dedication and passion make our mission possible. Your commitment inspires us every day, and we simply couldn't do this without you.

If you believe in creating safer communities and supporting vulnerable individuals and the first responders who serve them, we invite you to become part of our mission.

✅ Make a donation.
✅ Become a sponsor.
✅ Volunteer your time.
✅ Share our mission with your friends, family, and colleagues.

No contribution is too small. Together, we can expand our reach, impact more lives, and continue building programs that truly make a difference.

Thank you for standing with the S.A.V.E.S Project. Your support isn't just helping a nonprofit, it’s helping protect lives, strengthen communities, and create a safer future for those who need it most.
