Artist Spotlight: Carter Boston πŸŽ¨πŸ»β€β„οΈ

Carter experiences visual hypersensitivity, which gives him enhanced visual acuity and pattern recognition. As he describes it, he β€˜sees in lines.’ Those lines become the architecture that builds the larger image. It is a superpower, and it shows in his art.

Carter has been coming to Paint a Miracle since he was 13 years old. He took a few years away, but returned in 2022 and has been a regular ever since. He loves drawing animals (he is currently working on a polar bear in a snowy landscape with layered blue shadows), movie characters from Star Wars and The Hobbit, and even the objects in his home.

When asked if Paint a Miracle feels like a second home, Carter answered simply: "Yes."

We are so glad you are here, Carter. πŸ’™

What a beautiful day at our annual Spring Luncheon! πŸ’™πŸŽ¨ We gathered at the Royal Park Hotel for a sold-out celebration of creativity, community, and the incredible artists who make our mission possible.

One of the area's largest exhibitions of original artwork created by artists with special needs took center stage. Vibrant, colorful, and inspiring pieces were available for viewing and purchase throughout the event. Guests also enjoyed a silent auction, raffle, and plated lunch.

A special thank you to Paula Tutman for speaking at the luncheon. We are so grateful for your time and heartfelt words. The luncheon served as both a celebration of creativity and a critical fundraiser supporting year-round programming for our artists.

A reminder of why we do this work: Paint a Miracle was founded in 2002 by Dr. Dale Propson, who turned to painting as a path to healing after a life altering accident left him with a severe brain injury and vision loss. His journey inspired this studio. Dr. Propson passed away in 2020, but his legacy lives on.

Thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, and supported our artists. We are deeply grateful.
