We are getting SO EXCITED!

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to create a fundraising page, share it with family and friends, reach out to coworkers, and help spread the word! Every single effort makes a difference, and we are so grateful for all of you. ❤️

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and the money raised helps FCDSN continue providing programs, resources, and opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome and their families throughout our community. We truly couldn't do this without YOU!

Our community is more likely to experience a mental health condition than those without Ds. Recognize the signs and seek professional help. 💙💛

💛💙💚 Today, we continue to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month as well as recognize World Mental Health Day. 💛💙💚

Sadly, a misperception that persists about people with Down syndrome is that they are always happy and they don’t get stressed.

People with Down syndrome can experience the full range of feelings and emotions that people without Down syndrome experience. They can also develop mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Some estimates suggest that people with Down syndrome are more likely to develop mental health conditions compared to people without Down syndrome.

Medicinal and/or non-medicinal approaches can help a person with Down syndrome and a co-occurring mental health condition. Our online library has several resources on mental health, including a free PDF version of the book Mental Wellness in Adults with Down Syndrome by Dennis McGuire, PhD, and Brian Chicoine, MD. Red Wings night - join us this Saturday, September 12th. Game starts at 6:05 pm.

*****TICKET DETAILS: Each family gets a maximum of 4 tickets (additional tickets must be purchased at the Red Wings ticket window).

FCDSN will have a table for ticket pick up starting at 5:30 p.m. out front –but only until game start time. Tickets will then go to Will Call for pick up.

Stay for the post game fireworks!
