Greenovation

Greenovation Promoting waste diversion in the Rochester area through selling of previously owned objects or materials, creative reuse, donating, community education.

Waste diversion is what we do. We have multiple programs to educate the Rochester community about diverting waste from local landfills. Our organization donates usable items to other not for profits in the Rochester area helping free up their funds and keep usable items from the waste stream. We truly believe few things are actual garbage. we partner with other NFPs in Rochester to provide needed items to programs so monetary fund can be used on food and shelter etc.

12 years ago Lori's Natural Foods did an event called A Taste of Lori's. They selected Greenovation to be the beneficiary of half the proceeds collected from the $2 admission. Little did anyone know, but that was one of the times something miraculous saved Greenovation from going belly up. The $2,000 plus raised in 2014 helped pay our sales tax that the previous volunteer treasurer had failed to pay correctly.

We have come a long way and it has been a bumpy road. We were in debt, we had a maxed out line of credit, we had no money to pay anyone or advertise and we persevered with a lot of people stepping up. Here we are 12 years later with 2 part time employees, and the most wonderful volunteer staff. We survived the pandemic shut down, moving twice in 2 years, and fixing up this building we call home.

Thank you to the many many many people who helped along the way. We've had so many wonderful humans volunteer over the years and we are still learning and still growing as an organization. Thank you for sticking with us and helping us be the best second hand store we can be! 💚

Thank you Rochester for choosing to shop second hand first and keeping usable items out of the waste stream.

We might have gone a little overboard in our saving some foam from the dumpster. We have a lot of this for sale. Very cheap. It's like squishy styrofoam not furniture foam sorry for any confusion. None of the pieces are solid. I will post a video Saturday showing the two types we have the most of.
