“I have had the privilege to serve on the board as the Vice President, and Players Agent and Coaches Coordinator, both for softball. Also serving as a coach during these years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to build a strong relationship with players, parents, coaches, umpires, and other volunteers not only from our league, but other leagues as the Players Agent and Coaches Coordinator, it was my job to make sure the girls were of age for the division they competed in, as well as resided and went to school within our league boundaries.

If any parents had any questions that went beyond what their coach could help with, I was there as their next step. As far as coaches go, l had to make sure all coaches passed background checks and got the required trainings Little League expects of our volunteers.

As the Vice President of Softball, I kept in communication with the other leagues within our district like Oakville, Elma, Capitol, and Montesano to ensure we were all on the same page as far as league rules go. This involves communication during the winter off-season months to make sure we’re all ready to go by the time our seasons start. Vice-President also presides in the absence of the President.

We have a strong group of girls in Rochester and Tenino that are Little League aged and I encourage their parents to let them play little league softball. I love seeing our girls playing together and bringing their skillsets onto the Hoss and Tenino fields. Get involved. Keep our children involved. Let’s have fun. Thats what Little League is all about.”

“I grew up playing sports as most of us did. We remember the adults who cared and who didn’t. Who made it fun and who didn’t. When I joined Larch to coach my son in coach pitch I noticed little things that I wanted changed. I went to a board meeting to see how things were ran. I then decided instead of complaining about the problem be part of the solution. So I joined the board. I’m not going to lie it’s time consuming. I would never ask for that time back though because it is for the youth in this community. I’m not on this board for a thank you from the Community or to be recognized. I’m doing this so I can help bring ideas to the table to make each one of these kids baseball/softball seasons memorable.

If you have ideas of what can help this league, I urge you to come join this board. Do not be afraid to speak your mind on the situations you want changed. All opinions and people are welcome. Do it for the kids!”

“Serving in little league has been an amazing experience. I first got involved serving on the board when my oldest son was in teeball. I wanted to improve communication to the new families joining the league, and I knew I had the ability to help. I figured I could complain or I could be part of the solution.

Over the last 11 years I’ve served in a few different roles on the board and they have ALL been rewarding. I’ve worked hard to make it a great experience for the families and players in our community. For being part of Larch Mountain Little League something to be proud of.

Now that my youngest son is about to age out of little league, it is bittersweet. Seeing how LMLL has grown and being part of it has been amazing. Seeing the love of baseball and softball grow in these kids has been worth every minute of my time. The experience will be unforgettable.

This will be my 12th and last season on the board. I am excited to work with new board members and train someone to take over my duties on the board. We need people who want to make a difference, be part of the solution, who can dedicate their time and abilities for ALL the kids in our community and league.”

2026–2027 Board Members Wanted ⚾️🥎

Every year, there are a handful of people who raise their hands and say, “I’ll help.”
And those people are the reason Larch Mountain Little League continues to grow, improve, and give our kids the kind of Little League experience they deserve. ❤️💙

As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 Larch Mountain Little League Board, we’re looking for community members who are willing to step up and be part of what comes next.

Maybe you’ve been around the league for years. Maybe this is your first season. Maybe you have a ton of time to give or maybe you only have a little. There is a place for you.

Being on the Board isn’t just about meetings, paperwork, schedules, or checking things off a list. It’s about:

⚾️ Helping create opportunities for local kids
🥎 Making sure our league continues to thrive
🤝 Meeting and working alongside some pretty incredible people
❤️ Becoming part of a community that genuinely cares about its kids
🙌 Learning new skills and discovering strengths you didn’t know you had
🏆 Watching the hard work behind the scenes turn into a season our kids will remember
🌱 Helping build something that will still be here for the families who come after yours
And honestly?

Some of the most rewarding parts of volunteering are the things you don't see on a résumé.

It’s seeing a kid light up when they get their first hit. It’s watching a team come together. It’s hearing parents cheer from the stands. It’s watching your own kids grow through the game and realizing you helped make those memories possible for hundreds of other kids, too.

Larch Mountain Little League has a lot of potential, and we can’t reach that potential without people willing to invest in it. The future of this league depends on community members stepping forward and saying, “Count me in.”

So if you’ve ever thought about getting more involved, this is your sign. ❤️

We have several Board positions opening for the 2026–2027 term, including opportunities to learn from current Board members and step into roles that help keep our league running smoothly.
You don’t have to know everything. You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to care about the kids and be willing to help.
Come be part of the team behind the teams. ⚾️🥎

If you’re interested in learning more about available Board positions, send us a message or reach out to a current LMLL board member and join our meeting in October.

Let’s keep building something our community and our kids can be proud of.

It’s that time of year again to start thinking about how we can all work together to make a difference for the upcoming LMLL season.

Our Board Members start working to prepare in October for the season that begins in April. Planning and organizing for registration opening, selecting coaches and volunteers, ordering uniforms, conducting player evaluations, taking on field preparations and updates, as well as preparing for opening ceremonies all before the season even kicks off for the rest of the community.

This year we will have several open positions on our Board due to many existing members children aging out of Little League. This is a great opportunity to volunteer to make a difference and keep an amazing organization thriving in our community for the kids who love baseball and softball.

If you or anyone you know are interested in becoming a LMLL Board Member please mark your calendars for our tentative date of October 5th to attend the nominations meeting. Location and time TBD at a closer date.

As the 2026 Washington State Little League Softball Majors Tournament comes to a close, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this incredible week possible.

To our amazing volunteers—whether you worked in concessions, welcomed vendors, kept the official scorebook, ran the scoreboard, announced games, or stepped in wherever help was needed—thank you. Your time, dedication, and countless hours behind the scenes are what made this tournament such a success.

Thank you to every team, player, coach, family, and spectator who traveled to Oakville and made this week one to remember. The sportsmanship, friendships, and love for the game were on full display, and we are honored to have been a small part of your Little League journey.

A very special thank you goes to Lizzie Hart and Philip Youckton. Your leadership, commitment, and tireless work each and every day did not go unnoticed. This tournament simply would not have been possible without you.

We also want to express our sincere appreciation to the Chehalis Tribe for generously allowing us to use your beautiful facilities and for your continued support of youth sports and our communities.
Finally, thank you to our co-hosts at Oakville Little League and to every volunteer from Larch Mountain Little League. This tournament was a true example of what can happen when communities come together with a shared purpose.

Here's to an unforgettable week of softball, new friendships, lasting memories, and the countless volunteers who proved once again that Little League is so much more than just a game. ❤️🥎
