Let's talk about God's timing shall we?
I knew when I started outreach there are going to be times I need to make decisions. Today was one of those.
Senior lady HAS to move into housing more suitable for her needs. She HAS to give up two of her four dogs. It's not fair as she truly loves and adores them. She takes amazing care of them. But on the other hand, thankfully she gets to keep two of them.
She walked from Tumwater to Franklin Street Harm Reduction to get the help she needs. I happen to be there today doing outreach. I was called in to ask about solutions.
I am the solution, because nothing else made sense. She couldn't afford the owner surrender fee at the shelter. She wasn't about to just leave them. But she desperately needs this housing. She might be moving as early as tomorrow. She can't lose this housing.
She needed an answer, a safe place for them today.
Meet Soot. He came home with me. An 8 years old mixed breed dog, neutered and I will be updating vaccines soon. Roughly thirty pounds and appears to be a couch hog. He barely barks. He has meet my dogs and is ok with them. One of my cats is beating him up. But he has ignored the cats for the most part. Rides in the car beautifully.
He will be available shortly, not today.
Soot's mom was completely devastated over this. I don't blame her. She has had the dog since he was a puppy. So there were a lot of tears today.
Tomorrow I go and pick up the second dog. Which I'm told is smaller than Soot.
I am thankful we can help Soot and his mom today. I am sharing this photo with her permission.
