It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a beloved member of the Compassionate Care Plus family, Ann Taylor.

Ann dedicated many years of service to our organization, beginning her career with us as a nurse and ultimately retiring as Patient Care Coordinator of the Compassionate Care Center. Throughout her time with us, Ann played an integral role in helping bring the Compassionate Care Center from a vision to a reality, ensuring that countless patients and families would have access to compassionate, expert care close to home.

Her leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to those facing serious and advanced illness left a lasting impact on our organization, our staff, and the communities we serve. The legacy she helped build continues to touch lives every day within the walls of the Compassionate Care Center.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Ann’s family, friends, former colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched. We are grateful for her years of service and the compassion she shared so freely with others.

Ann’s contributions to our mission will not be forgotten.

Our business office is closed today, Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

As always, the Compassionate Care Center is open and you can reach us any time, day or night, at 859-986-1500.

As a partner in the national We Honor Veterans program, we are deeply committed to meeting the special needs of our veteran patients and their families.

Today, we are mindful of the men and women who have lost their lives in service to our country. All of us at Compassionate Care Plus are grateful to them, their families, and their legacies.

We also send warmth and comfort to those for whom Memorial Day can be difficult or lonely. We hope you are able to take a moment today in quiet reflection of your loved one’s memory. Celebrate their lives by sharing stories and offering a listening ear to those who may need it.

Something exciting is in the works.

We had the pleasure of spending the day with Amber and Dean from WKYT, alongside some of our amazing volunteers and staff, for a fun new project that highlights the communities we proudly serve.

This was just one stop in a series of visits we’ll be making across our six county service region, and we can’t wait to share more soon. Stay tuned!

A heartfelt thank you to theGFWC Berea Woman's Club for their incredible support of our @2026 Rockin' Derby Eve Benefit as the Games, Raffles & Auctions Sponsor.

Last week, we were honored to attend the club’s monthly meeting, where they presented a generous donation of more than $14,000. Wow! We are simply blown away!

Because of dedicated community partners like the GFWC Berea Woman's Club we are able to continue providing compassionate care and support to patients and families across Estill, Jackson, Lee, Madison, Owsley, and Rockcastle counties.

The club's long-standing commitment to giving back makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve at CCP every day.

We had the pleasure of attending the CEMP - Council for Elder Maltreatment Prevention Education Forum today in Richmond. CCP's Melissa Riddell and Mariah Smith greeted participants as they stopped by our info booth, and Mariah also gave a presentation on our care and services, as well as how to get involved as a volunteer. Thank you, CEMP, for allowing us to attend this amazing event!

Last month, we had the pleasure of speaking at the Beattyville/Lee County Chamber of Commerce about the compassionate care and support we provide across Estill, Jackson, Lee, Madison, Owsley, and Rockcastle counties. We always value opportunities to connect with our communities, answer questions, and share more about the services available to individuals and families facing serious and advanced illness.

While in Beattyville, we also had the chance to visit one of the area’s newest local spots, Herman’s Brew, and enjoy some delicious food and hospitality. Thank you to the Chamber and everyone who welcomed us for such a wonderful visit.

If your club, church, civic organization, or community group would like to learn more about Compassionate Care Plus and the services we provide, we would love to connect with you. Visit compassionatecareplus.org or give us a call at 859-986-1500 to schedule a speaker.
