🇬🇹 Spinning tops, big smiles, and a whole lot of Chapín pride!
In honor of Guatemala’s upcoming Independence Day on September 15th, our community center has been adding an extra dose of fun to our weekend classes!
We are taking time to step away from the desks to teach our students the traditional games of Guatemala, to connect our students with their beautiful heritage through traditional Guatemalan games.
Passing down these games does more than just bring out lots of laughs—it keeps our kids rooted in their identity, honors their culture, and connects them to something their parents and grandparents grew up playing. Culture isn’t just history—it’s alive, can be fun and is special when celebrated together! 💙🤍

Grateful beyond words!

A week ago, we had the joy of welcoming Kidventure from the chapter at a Montessori school for a visit, where they came to spend time with our students sharing a special program with them. Last Saturday, they returned with an incredible surprise: a truly generous donation to support our ministry!
They brought us a brand-new TV, a new stove, 10 computer monitors and keyboards and other equipment, a drone, as well as boxes filled with books and prizes for our reading program.
These are so much more than material donations—they are opportunities. Opportunities for our children to learn, read, explore, create, and dream a little bigger.
To everyone at Kidventure, thank you for thinking of us, for showing up, and for investing in our students and their future. Your generosity and kindness mean more than we can express.

Thank you for helping us make a difference, one gift and one child at a time!

Celebrating 10 Years of Community, Hope & Impact, made possible through partnership!

We are beginning the celebrations as we reach an incredible 10 years of our community impact centers! What a journey it has been!
As we celebrate this milestone, we are also celebrating partnerships that have made this impact possible. We were so honored that our biggest partner, Orphan Outreach, came to celebrate this special occasion with us. They were the first to come alongside us and their support, partnership, and belief in our work have helped make it possible for us to impact so many lives over these past 10 years.

As a small expression of our gratitude, we surprised their co-founder and vice president, Tiffany Wines with a framed collage of students from our programs, signed by the students from both our centers where they have had an impact. It was such a moving and special moment as we shared our appreciation for all they have done to support our community.

We also enjoyed a beautiful slideshow journey through the past decade, people and moments through this journey.

10 years. So many lives touched. So much to be grateful for!
Thank you Orphan Outreach for your belief in what God was doing here and deciding to step alongside us, so many years ago!
Stay tuned to see who and what else we celebrated this day. 😉

Opening Doors Through Technology
Today, a group of Cadaniño students had the incredible opportunity to participate in “FITx: Electrónica sin Fronteras” at Universidad Galileo, a hands-on electronics workshop led by international experts from Romania, the United States, and Mexico.
Our students spent the morning learning by doing—exploring electronics, technology, and their real-world applications alongside professionals who came to Guatemala to share their knowledge with young people.
These are exactly the kinds of opportunities we want to create for our students.
At Cadaniño, teaching technology isn’t simply about learning to use a computer or completing a project. We want young people to discover what they are capable of, develop new interests and skills, and begin imagining possibilities for their futures that they may never have considered before.
We are especially grateful to Universidad Galileo and SENACYT for continuing to open doors for our students and inviting them into spaces where they can learn, experiment, and be inspired.
We are excited about the idea that among these young students may be Guatemala’s future engineers, programmers, inventors, and technology leaders.

Lunch time! 🍽️
We are truly grateful to all the women at WOW (Women for Orphans Worldwide) who sponsor our nutrition program and make it possible for us to keep our students’ bellies full with delicious, nutritious meals.

Good nutrition helps our students grow, learn, focus, and have the energy they need to make the most of each day. We are so thankful for the women who make this simple but incredibly important part of caring for our students possible. Thank you for helping us nourish not only their bodies, but also their futures!

The upside-down kingdom! In Bible class, our youth are diving into what it means to belong to Jesus and His Upside down kingdom. The world tells us to think of ourselves first and our own needs. But Jesus shows us that His kingdom works a different way. Our identity isn’t defined by what we do or what others think, but by our belonging to Christ. Instead of chasing perfection, independence or selfish living, citizens of God’s kingdom are called to ask God to transform their hearts, and to live a life that shows love and mercy and seeks peace. We don’t do this to earn our place in God’s kingdom but rather because we love our King. The question for us all: Are we living by the rules of this world, or by the values of our King and Heavenly Father who created and loves us?

This! Is. What. It’s. About! Lives impacted by Him, so they can be lived for Him in service to others! It’s about receiving grace and turning around and extending that grace to others. It’s about having received God’s goodness and beauty and wanting to help others see it as well! We are so proud of our students serving in our youth missions club. Please keep them all in your prayers!
