Whew! 🌭🐾 We needed a little nap after all that Dachtoberfest fun! 😴❤️

But we’re rested, recharged, and ready to share SO many wonderful memories from our 5th anniversary celebration!

Dachtoberfest may be over, but our dachshund friends across Virginia have more fun planned!

🎃 October 23 –703doxies Hallo-Weenie Bash in Woodbridge! An evening of spooky fun with costume contests for the Spookiest and Most Creative pups!

👻 October 31 Williamsburg Doxie Meetup Halloween Parade on DoG Street! Dress up your doxies for a festive stroll through Colonial Williamsburg, with group photos at 2:45 PM.

🦇 October 31 – rvaweens Halloweenie Meetup in Short Pump! Get those costumes ready for a fun gathering and costume contest with prizes for the top three pups!

The Dachtoberfest races gave us fast dogs, determined dogs, distracted dogs… and a few who had absolutely no interest in racing at all. 😂

There were dachshunds everywhere, old friends catching up, new friends being made, lots of shopping, plenty of laughs and SO many dogs to love.

Our 5th Dachtoberfest is officially in the books, and we can’t thank everyone enough for being part of it.

To everyone who came through the doors, brought your dogs, raced, dressed up, shopped, donated, volunteered, sponsored, vended, shared our posts and helped us make this crazy celebration happen — THANK YOU.

Seeing so many familiar faces return and so many new ones join us is exactly why we keep doing this.

We have A LOT of photos and memories to share, so Dachtoberfest isn’t disappearing from your feed just yet. 🌭

One of our favorite Dachtoberfest traditions is finding out who takes home the titles of Longest Dog and Shortest Dog!

🥇 Longest Dog: is Pacha who was entered by Jake H. at 31 inches
🥇 Shortest Dog: was Ziggy entered by Johanna C. at 16.5 inches
