Sustainable Hudson Valley

Sustainable Hudson Valley Our mission is to speed up the transition to a low-carbon economy with high quality of life for all. Tap our networks at http://www.hvresourcecenter.org

We help communities implement climate action plans with amped-up public participation including 100% renewable energy strategies. Climate change is advancing and so is human creativity to fight back, shift our power systems to renewables, design our communities for self-reliance, and channel investment into work that is genuinely productive of community wealth. There are revolutions going on in ar

chitecture, energy systems, agriculture, product design, and communications, supporting these ideas. We think the biggest revolution is in the capacity of communities to get involved and set their own creative course. There is a lot of talk about resilience - the ability to withstand crises and bounce back better. That same quality of strength and resourcefulness is what we need to draw on to prevent unnecessary crises and build more stress-resistant, durable, beautiful places to live and work. Sustainable Hudson Valley is a project developer, resource broker and thought leader in this work.

Every year, since 2019, we have published the Clean Power Guide in collaboration with Chronogram Media.

Since the first publication there have been constants such as solar, heat pumps, and EVs. Although these topics have stayed the same throughout the years, the way we approach them have evolved. The market has changed since 2019 and so has the technology. Prices have gone down and the technology has improved tremendously.

In the latest edition we’ve added a resource guide of professionals and organizations who are able to help you with electrification!

Check out the latest edition of the Clean Power Guide to learn about the up-to-date info on each of these topics which can be found at the link in our bio or at UpstateHouse.com

Our Executive Director Melissa Everett was on the Nature Nuggets show on Radio Kingston this past weekend! Melissa talked with the shows host, Laurel, about the politically motivated attacks on the Climate Law and how the path forward to implementing it could be regional rather than statewide. Melissa also discusses how there are no one-size solutions and communities understandably feel out of control when solar or BESS proposals are landing from the sky. The process for implementing the Climate Law has to be community driven in a more robust way. To listen to Melissa discuss this issue as well as talk about other topics click here:

The Clean Power Guide is your consumer resource for all things energy related. Whether you are thinking about an energy audit, heat pumps, solar or an EV, there has never been a better time to act on your values with the Guide as your support. Published by Sustainable Hudson Valley with Chronogram Publishing, the Guide is generously supported by sponsors. And we have a correction:

In a previously published version of the Clean Power Guide 2026 Edition we accidentally linked the wrong website for New Energy Project Management.

Their website is newenergypm.com NOT NEPM.com

You can also use the QR code on the second slide to go to their website. This mistake has been updated on the online version of the Clean Power Guide which can be found at upstatehouse.com
