The CommunityConnect summer program ended with a performance of the students’ favorite scenes from the fables they read last week for an audience of their siblings and caregivers.
The students not only did a great job while on stage but also with the work they put in behind the scenes to design their costumes and sets. 💖

The CommunityConnect summer program last week featured lots of outdoor adventures. The students learned about nature and local ecology through exploration of local trails and streams and learned to identify the many living creatures they found- from spiders to frogs and even a couple snakes! 🐍

Our CommunityConnect weeklong summer program is in full swing! ☀️📖🎬🎭

This year, each day of the program focuses on a different fable or fairytale. At the end of each day, the students perform scenes from the story for each other. They spend their day stretching their learning and creative muscles by reading the story, developing and practicing their script, and participating in art activities as they create their own costumes.

These Red Hook and Rhinebeck students in grades K-5 are English as a New Language (ENL) learners, and this program aims to help them prepare for the upcoming academic year by enhancing language and writing skills, promoting confidence, and fostering interpersonal and social relationships.

Serendipity
On our last day in Madagascar, we had the honor of meeting Dr. Wright—a reminder that this journey has been full of unexpected connections and inspiring people.

And we couldn’t have asked for a better way to end our adventure than with the best driver around, Fabrice!! He safely guided us through every mile, shared countless smiles, and became such an important part of our experience.
