Small clumps of potentially harmful algae have been spotted on the surface of Lake Anne, following reports from residents. While boating activities can still continue, it is advised that residents and visitors avoid contact with any algae and lake water in areas where algae is present. Pet owners should take extra precautions, as the main concern is the ingestion of algae by dogs. Additionally, the fountain at Lake Anne has been turned off and will be reactivated as soon as conditions in the lake allow.

Warning signs have been posted at general lake access points. Reston Association will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.

Thank you to TransUnion for participating in a Corporate Day of Service at Walker Nature Center and for your generous donation to the Friends of Reston. Volunteers planted native species, removed invasive stilt grass, and spread wood chips along the nature trail, all of which helped enhance this special community space. We sincerely appreciate your support.

The Covenants Committee will meet via Zoom on Wednesday, October 21, at 6:30 p.m. The committee is responsible for enforcing the Use and Maintenance Covenants from the Reston Deed of Dedication, handling reported violations, creating standards, and evaluating exception permit requests.
