Freedom Insight Ending Human Trafficking Where We All Work and Live.

05/13/2026

That day was the day I stopped asking myself what I was good at, and I started to lean into what kept me up at night. Soon after, my co-founder and I started BAATC, now called Freedom Insight.

This is one story of many that have fueled our work at Freedom Insight over the past 15 years.

On May 29th in San Francisco, you’re invited to celebrate 15 years of impact on the top floor of the Salesforce Tower. As we take in the Bay Area from 1,000 feet up, we’re remembering our beginnings, where we’ve been, and we’re creating a vision for the future and our impact together.

Join us. We can’t wait to celebrate your impact as we work together to bring a pathway to freedom to vulnerable individuals in the communities where we work and live.

As we’ve wrapped up National Volunteer Month in April, we’ve been reminded of volunteers like Jessica. She didn’t wait for a miracle to see change. Jessica decided to show up in the fight against human trafficking in her own community.

Jessica joined our hotel outreach initiative before Super Bowl LX. She hit the ground in the Bay Area to ensure local hotels had the training materials and resources needed to comply with state laws and, more importantly, to protect the vulnerable.

Jessica’s story is a reminder that we can take action today. Every action matters, whether it’s through spreading awareness, outreach, or financial support.

We sat down with Jessica to talk about her experience and why she believes everyone has a role to play to fight human trafficking in their community.

In this episode of the Love Never Fails Radio, host Vanessa Russell is joined by Erika Keaveney with Freedom Insight, to discuss how survivor-led insights are changing the frontline.

Is your hotel or business a blind spot for exploitation? 🛑

We recently joined and the Contra Costa Human Trafficking Task Force for The Economy of Exploitation where attendees learned the surprising ways human trafficking is impacting their business and what they can do to be part of the solution.

Hotels and local businesses gained practical tools, human trafficking response protocols, and no-cost resources to help identify the signs of trafficking.

Don’t wait to be part of the solution. Partner with Freedom Insight today to transform your workplaces into a frontline of protection.

Traffickers rely on hotels to move, work, and sleep their victims. But when staff are trained to recognize the signs and take action, we can disrupt their operations.

With proper training, hotel employees are a powerful force in shutting down the business of trafficking.

This is why we train hotel staff to identify human trafficking and report it effectively.

Don’t let your business be a blind spot. Partner with Freedom Insight today to transform your workplace into a frontline of protection.

1 in 4 trafficking victims are moved through hotels during their exploitation. Victims aren't being moved through back alleys; they are checking in right in front of us, hidden in plain sight.

According to a survivor survey conducted by :

80% of commercial s*x trafficking occurs at hotels,
69% of trafficked victims are moved through hotels during their exploitation, and
20% of traffickers house victims in hotels.

What do hotels/motels need to know about their role in combating human trafficking?

- Many states have laws requiring hotels and motels to train staff on human trafficking.
- Laws also exist that require hotels/motels to post public anti-trafficking notices.
- Hotels and motels are increasingly being sued under federal law for failing to take reasonable steps to prevent trafficking on their premises.

When hotel staff are trained to identify human trafficking and know how to report it effectively, the business of human trafficking can no longer prosper.

Restoring dignity isn't just a goal. It’s an action.

The Love in Action event in January was a powerful reminder of what happens when a community decides to show up, even after the event is over.

Because of the generosity of , survivors of s*x trafficking and s*xual violence are receiving more than just clothing—they’re receiving a fresh start and the dignity they deserve.

Huge shoutout to for leading the charge and redefining what justice looks like, one survivor at a time, by providing new clothing for survivors of s*xual violence.

Want to join the fight? You don’t need hours of free time to make a difference. Whether it’s donating new clothing items or educating yourself about human trafficking through a podcast, each step creates a massive wave of change.

THE CHALLENGE: In just 10 minutes, you can turn your awareness into tangible action. (One of the steps takes less than 30 seconds!)
