Founded in 1976, Montessori in Redlands is a private, nonprofit Montessori school where children begin a life journey of self-realization, love of learning, & global responsibility. We were founded in 1976 by parents who wanted a school that would respect and encourage each child’s inherent curiosity, abilities, and interests. We firmly believe in protecting and nurturing children's natural gifts

while giving them a solid academic foundation. MIR is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation funded by tuition, fees, donations, and grants. We follow the Montessori tradition of fostering ethnic, economic, and intellectual diversity. The school is a true community where everyone is part of an extended "family" that cares deeply for one another and for the broader community.

A golden start to the school year! ✨💛

This year’s Back to School Night brought families together for class orientations and a chance to connect with their child's community. We also added a little extra 50th-anniversary sparkle with a walk-through timeline installation, celebrating five decades of MIR history.

And those beautiful golden cranes? Our Elementary summer school students folded them, and community members lovingly strung them into more than 25 strands, a perfect symbol of the care and connection that make MIR so special.

Today, we welcome our students back to campus for a school year unlike any other, our Golden Anniversary year!

For five decades, first days have brought new faces, familiar smiles, curious minds, and countless moments of learning and discovery. Today, we add another first day to our story and begin the next chapter together. 💛

Introducing MIR Through the Years: A Throwback Thursday Series ✨

For 50 years, Montessori in Redlands has been filled with moments of curiosity, discovery, and joy. To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we’re looking back at the memories, milestones, and everyday moments that have made MIR what it is today.

Our first look back shows that some moments are timeless. In 1993 and again in 2025, our Toddlers gathered to watch a trash truck arrive on campus with the same excitement and curiosity. While our campus has grown and generations of students have come and gone, the simple joy of discovering the world around them remains unchanged.
