As Thanksgiving and Christmas approach, Redlands Masonic Lodge #300 proudly invites our community to join us in supporting Redlands Family Service, extending compassion, generosity, and hope to families in need.

Freemasonry is founded upon the timeless principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. Our fraternity teaches that charity is not merely an obligation, but a sacred expression of our commitment to humanity. Through service, we transform these cherished values into meaningful action.

We welcome donations of nonperishable foods, unopened toiletries, paper goods, and clean, gently worn clothing, including coats and professional attire.

Donations may be delivered during October and November Lodge nights, Saturday breakfasts, and November’s Stated Meeting. All contributions will be delivered November 23, 2026.

Together, as Masons, neighbors, and friends, we can strengthen our community, uplift those facing hardship, and demonstrate that the greatest measure of our fraternity is service to others.

DOUBLE SECOND DEGREE

Monday, September 28, 2026

Brethren of the Craft,
you are fraternally summoned to gather within the sacred halls of Redlands Masonic Lodge No. 300, where, in accordance with ancient custom and time-honored tradition, the Fellow Craft Degree shall be conferred upon our worthy Brothers, Nyles O’Harra and Zach Rood.

Having first entered upon their Masonic journey as Entered Apprentices, these Brothers now approach another station upon that noble path—seeking further Light, Knowledge, and Understanding within the mysteries of the Craft.

Let us assemble beneath the Square and Compasses, united in fellowship, to bear witness as our Brothers ascend another step upon the symbolic staircase of Freemasonry.

May Wisdom direct them, Strength sustain them, and Beauty adorn their endeavors as they continue their travels toward greater Light.

Come, Brethren, and share in this solemn and distinguished occasion.

We, The Brethren of Redlands Masonic Lodge hold a moment in time in commemoration of those lost at the will of those that would see us no more.

A Short Word:
September 11, 2001 began as an ordinary American morning and, within moments, became a dividing line in our history. The attacks upon our nation did more than destroy buildings and take innocent lives; they shattered our sense of security and forever changed how Americans understood vulnerability, sacrifice, service, and freedom.

Yet from the smoke, devastation, and unimaginable sorrow emerged something no act of hatred could destroy: the courage of the American people.

Firefighters climbed stairwells while others fled downward. Police officers, paramedics, military personnel, and ordinary citizens moved toward danger because strangers needed them. Passengers aboard Flight 93 confronted terror with extraordinary bravery. Across the nation, Americans stood together—not because we were untouched by fear, but because courage demanded that fear would not have the final word.

September 11 changed our lives in an instant. Airports changed. Security changed. Our military entered a new era of conflict, sending generations of Americans into service far from home. Families endured deployments, empty chairs, folded flags, and sacrifices that continued long after the smoke disappeared from the New York skyline. We became painfully aware that events occurring thousands of miles away could reach directly into our communities and homes.

Twenty-five years later, remembrance must be more than recalling tragedy. It must honor the character revealed in its aftermath.

America endured because its people possessed resilience—the strength to grieve without surrendering hope, to rebuild without forgetting, and to stand again after being wounded.

Today, we remember those who perished, those who responded, those who served, and those who carried the burden afterward.

May our silence honor their sacrifice. May our unity honor their memory. And may our courage ensure that America never forgets.

Modern Freemasonry continues to stand as a quiet yet powerful force for good, grounded not only in tradition, but in an enduring commitment to uplifting others. Though its teachings are rooted in centuries of moral instruction, the true strength of Masonry today is found in its living practice of charity, mentorship, and service—particularly in its dedication to supporting the next generation.
One of the most meaningful ways this commitment is demonstrated is through scholarship. In a time when many young people face significant financial barriers in pursuing higher education, Masonic organizations continue to extend not only encouragement, but real and lasting support. A scholarship is far more than a financial award; it is a declaration of faith in the promise, character, and future of a young person willing to strive for excellence. It reflects the Masonic belief that education, integrity, and service remain among the most valuable investments society can make.
The 2026 Redlands Scholarship Fund recipients, pictured here, are shining examples of that promise. These four exceptional young ladies stepped forward with courage and purpose, writing essays that reflected upon the influence Masonry has had on the course of their lives. In doing so, they demonstrated thoughtfulness, maturity, and an appreciation for the values that Freemasonry has long sought to cultivate: charity, truth, personal growth, and a sincere desire to contribute to the world around them.
Also pictured are the men who helped make this moment possible. As seen on the left of the photograph is Wor. Leonard Franklin, sitting Master of Redlands Masonic Lodge #300, and on the right is Justin Bauer, chair of the 2026 Redlands Masonic Lodge Scholarship Committee. Their presence in this moment is symbolic of what Masonry does best: standing beside the next generation not only in word, but in action.
This is modern Masonry at its finest—preserving timeless values while helping deserving young people build a brighter future through education, encouragement, and meaningful support.

Free and Accepted Masonry shares a deep historical bond with American Independence Day because many of the principles that shaped the United States—liberty, equality, moral responsibility, and devotion to the common good—are also central tenets of the Craft. Freemasonry encourages men to improve themselves, serve their communities, and uphold justice, virtues that echoed strongly in the founding spirit of July 4, 1776. Many early American leaders and patriots were Masons, carrying those values into the formation of a new nation. Independence Day therefore stands not only as a celebration of freedom, but also as a reminder of brotherhood, civic duty, and the enduring pursuit of a better society.
