It all started with VOLUNTEERS in a living room. 🏠✨

This month, ACS is proud to celebrate "Founders Month" and 58 years of service to our North State community!

It began in October 1968 with one woman’s vision. Louise Rall saw a need for coordinated care for seniors in Shasta County. She gathered a small group of volunteers in her own home, and over conversation and shared passion, "Golden Umbrella" was born.

Louise proved that volunteers have incredible power. They truly are the ones who make change happen. What started as a local dream has grown into a vital resource serving 9 counties today.

A beautiful testament to our history: Louise lived to be 98 years old, utilizing the very services she helped create. Today, we carry on her legacy as Dignity Health Connected Living.

Cheers to 58 years of caring for those who paved the way!

Thankful for our AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteers who were recently celebrated during a national ACS broadcast. These volunteers are all amazing and provide much needed support to our programs!

ACS Director Tina Brown welcomed ACS Director Liz Hillen with Felton Institute of San Francisco Ca to our Mercy Oaks Campus. Both Directors spent time learning about volunteer programs and services and gleaning from each other.
