Thank you to the many friends and colleagues who have reached out with concern regarding the horrific disaster in Nepal today. The McConnell Foundation has worked with some of the affected communities for decades and the losses are deeply felt.

Since 2022, we have supported efforts to improve early warning systems and disaster preparedness in Nepal. With these events increasing in frequency and scale, with the heart-breaking loss of life and life-sustaining infrastructure, sustained investment in risk
reduction is essential.

To go far, go together.

We want to recognize the many Nepali and international systems thinkers, data gurus, citizen scientists, hydrologists, forecasters, modelers, policy drafters, local community groups, and volunteers who have been dedicated for years and who are working urgently today.

🎆 Did you know? For 35 years, The McConnell Foundation has made Redding’s Freedom Festival fireworks possible, all thanks to a $10,000 anonymous gift from Mrs. McConnell, who simply loved fireworks. 💙❤️

What started as her passion has grown into a $100,000 annual gift that fully funds one of the Top 5 fireworks shows on the West Coast!

The City of Redding also steps in with in-kind support, police, fire, location, advertising, and more, making this tradition a true community partnership.

Shasta County KinderCollege Day is an interactive day filled with engaging presenters that are there to help Kindergartners learn more about their profession, and the education needed for their career.

What an incredible morning celebrating the brand-new Sierra Pacific Regional Cancer Center! 🧡

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to celebrate this monumental addition to our community. The turnout was incredible, and it was so special to see our community come together to recognize the completion of a project that will have such a meaningful impact on patients and families throughout Northern California.

Congratulations to Dignity Health and Mercy Foundation North and the many, many partners, donors, healthcare professionals and community members who helped bring this vision to life.

This center represents so much more than a beautiful new building. It means greater access to exceptional cancer care, advanced treatment and critical support services right here at home. What an incredible difference this will make for those navigating some of life's most difficult moments.

We were honored to celebrate this milestone alongside our community. Congratulations to everyone who played a part in making the Sierra Pacific Regional Cancer Center a reality! 💙
