A big thank you to Dominic DeFreece for the many ways he continues to support Hannah’s Hope! 💙

Dominic has generously shared his time and knowledge by teaching financial literacy classes for our moms. Recently, when we reached out to ask if he knew someone who could help trim a tree at our Waverly Street apartments, he went above and beyond—Dominic and his son stepped up and took care of it themselves!

We are continually grateful for people in our community who see a need and are willing to lend a hand. Thank you, Dominic, for investing in our families and our ministry in so many practical ways. Your generosity is truly appreciated! 🌳💙

🌳 Plant a tree. Grow an impact. 🌳

We’re excited to help spread the word about a wonderful local initiative from Berks Nature and c

Now through September 12, when you purchase a tree, shrub, or perennial at Riverview Gardens & Gifts, 15% of your purchase will go to Berks Nature’s Plant-A-Tree Fund, helping them reach their goal of planting 100 native trees throughout Berks County. 🌱

We love seeing local organizations and businesses come together to invest in our community in meaningful ways. If a little landscaping is on your fall to-do list, this is a great opportunity to make your purchase go even further!

📚✏️ It’s Back-to-School Week! 🍎

Last week, we had a special evening with our families as we helped get everyone ready for a new school year. Thanks to generous donations, each of the kids received a new backpack filled with school supplies. We also had the opportunity to spend time praying over each child and their mom as they prepared for the transition back to school. 💛

Our Waverly Street apartment families were blessed with backpacks and supplies as well as their children head back to the classroom this week.

The summer certainly flew by! As we begin a new season, we’re grateful for the health, growth, and excitement of these kiddos—and for a community that continues to surround our families with love and support.

Here’s to a wonderful school year filled with new friends, new experiences, lots of learning, and plenty of reasons to smile! 🎒🚌❤️

🍎 Back-to-School Week at Hannah’s Hope! 📚

This week is a big one for our families, and we’re so grateful for the people who find such thoughtful ways to come alongside them. A wonderful family prepared and brought a delicious meal for everyone—one less thing for our moms to think about during a busy first week of school! They stayed to spend the evening with us, and a friendly game of softball made it even more fun. ❤️

The evening was also bittersweet as we celebrated our childcare coordinator, Aileen, during her final week at Hannah’s Hope. Aileen has poured so much love, care, and energy into our children and families, and she has been such a wonderful part of this ministry. We are incredibly grateful for the time we’ve had with her and so sad to see her go.

Sometimes goodbyes are hard simply because someone has been so deeply loved. 💛

Aileen, thank you for the many ways you have loved our kids and served our families. You will be missed, and we are cheering you on in what comes next!

Hello! I’m Betsy Santiago, and I’ve dedicated my life to serving others—both
through my work and within my own home. Family Is Everything! I’ve been
married for 35 years, and together my husband and I have six incredible children,
three biological and three adopted. For the past 25 years, our family has lived in
a spacious seven-bedroom home in Hamburg, PA, where there’s always room
for laughter, love, and hospitality. For 16 years, we’ve extended our home and
hearts through fostering, welcoming 42 children into our family over that time.
Each child brought their own story, their own dreams, and their own success
stories.

I currently serve as a Case Manager at Hannah’s Hope Ministries, where I’ve
had the privilege of walking alongside families for the last seven years. With 32
years of case management experience across Berks County, I’ve learned that
every family’s story is unique, and every person deserves compassion, respect,
and a helping hand. At Hannah’s Hope, I Partner with families to identify
strengths and set achievable goals, connect parents and children to community
resources, offer emotional support and practical guidance through challenging
times, and foster lasting relationships built on trust and mutual respect. This work
allows me to serve God and serve others in a way that feels deeply meaningful.
Every day, I’m inspired by the families I serve and the relationships we build
together. My goal is to help parents feel confident in their roles, children feel
secure in their environments, and entire families embrace the idea that they are
not alone on their journey of Success.

🏡💛 Could You Help Turn a Room Into a Home?

When a new family walks through the doors of Hannah’s Hope, our desire is for them to immediately feel something important: you are safe here, you are welcome here, and this can be a fresh start.

For the next 12–18 months, their suite becomes home—a place to rest, heal, raise their children, and work hard toward the individual goals that will help them build a more stable future.

We’d love some help making those spaces feel special. ✨

Do you love decorating, organizing, or staging a room? We are looking for individuals, families, small groups, or businesses who would be interested in “adopting a suite.” When one family graduates or moves on from our program, you would help us refresh and prepare that space for the next family—adding those thoughtful touches that turn an empty room into a warm and welcoming home.

Fresh bedding, simple décor, organization, a little creativity and a lot of love can make such a difference. 💛

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you! Reach out to Hannah’s Hope to learn more about adopting a suite.

Help us create a space where a new chapter can begin. 🏡✨
