A simple gift can make a lasting impact! 🧡

At a recent R3 graduation, Rich Durina, one of the program’s key instructors, handed out pens featuring an encouraging message: “Congratulations, I am proud of you.”

During his speech, Rich encouraged graduates to use their pens as they completed employment paperwork and to remember those words as they took the next step in their journeys.

Graduate Matthew took that message to heart, using his pen to complete his new-hire paperwork and thanking Rich for the thoughtful gift.

This moment is a beautiful reminder that the impact of our programs goes beyond the classroom. The encouragement, relationships, and support we share with our clients can make a difference long after graduation.

Congratulations on your new job, Matthew! We’re cheering you on as you begin this exciting new chapter!

Members of our Connections Work team have officially completed a three-day certification in Cognitive Behavioral Interventions – Employment Adult (CBI-EA)! 👏

Developed by the University of Cincinnati’s Corrections Institute, this evidence-based program provides practical strategies to help individuals overcome employment barriers, build lasting job stability, and reduce recidivism.

At Connections Work, we’re committed to putting best practices into action. That’s why all of our case managers are trained to deliver CBI-EA, helping the individuals we serve build the skills and confidence needed for long-term employment success.

Our team is so used to seeing Galen Emanuele’s (Shift Yes) training videos at our staff meetings that when he walked through our doors to surprise 🎉 our staff with a live, in-person training, the room was filled with disbelief, cheers, jaws on the floor 😂, and joy.

The gratitude that we have for Galen’s generosity is hard to put into words. His videos have been a key part of elevating our workplace culture over the past few years, and the training that he provided to our team last Monday was truly captivating, engaging, and genuinely impactful. Our team will be talking about this for a long time! (Be sure to scroll through the photos to see the reaction that our team had, seeing him walk through the door).

Thank you, Galen, for coming out to meet our staff, for sharing your wisdom on how to be awesome in the workplace, and for being so incredibly generous with our Connections Work team. We are so grateful. 😊
