Blankets of Hope- Berks will be ordering more beds for SafeBerks next week. If we haven’t reached it yet…we are extremely close to having donated 1,000 brand new twin beds in Berks County since we started this program.  Let that number sink in. BOH over the last couple years has received some very generous grants that have helped all our programs. Anytime we receive a grant or any general dollar, 100% of those dollars go directly to the cause.

 We have no salaries… we have no brick and mortar… at the end of the day, if we never receive another monetary donation, no one is in jeopardy of losing a job.  We would just not be able to supply the resources to the agencies that we have been helping for the last 14 years.

85,000 Disposable Masks Donated Since the Start of the Pandemic

Plus thousands of pillows and bedsheets

Everything that has been donated is also brand new and of excellent quality.

Our resources have helped the homeless, our Veterans, our four legged friends, babies, young children, teenagers, young adults, adults, seniors, hospice patients, hospitals, dialysis patients and cancer patients and I’m sure I’m missing a few. 

I’m going to keep true to myself and not ask for donations but to remind you and educate you, what we do as an organization so if you do decide to make a monetary donation, you know exactly where your money is going and how and who it is helping❤️

Blankets of Hope has maintained the same template that it was founded on 14 years ago regardless of the resources we continue to add.  That is something I’m proud of.

I just ordered 80 blankets to be shipped to SafeBerks I keep a running tally of blankets as best as I can with every order that I print out from our blanket manufacturer. Since January of 2012, Blankets of Hope-Berks has now donated 100,011 to those in Berks County and beyond.

For a small grassroots organization and pardon my language, but that is a sh*tload of blankets that have been donated. This does not happen without the help of our amazing community. When I pitched the BOH idea to Randy Boyer and Michael Dautrich 14 years ago, I don't believe we ever thought that this was something that would ever happen.

And if you don't mind, I would like to brag a little bit because these numbers are absolutely incredible and it is thanks to our board and the community to make this even happen.

85,000 disposable masks
800 to 1000 twin bed sets
300+ pack 'n plays
4000+ pairs of socks

And for the last 14 years we've been able to keep and maintain the same template of 100% of every general donation going to the cause. No salaries, no brick and mortar and so on. We have been able to take those donations that we receive and make sure that they make an immediate impact in our community and with our growth we have still been able to maintain this and that is something that I am proud to say.
