Week 2 of summer camp was full of adventure, discovery and a little bit of sparkle. ✨

Campers explored caves, mined for rocks, learned about the world underground, had a pool day and packed the week with games, laughs and summer memories.

🤩 Basically? Camp is doing what camp does best.

There’s still time to join the fun. Register for summer camp today and don’t let your kid miss out on the next adventure!

Did you know Father’s Day was founded at the YMCA?

In 1910, Sonora Smart Dodd held the very first Father’s Day celebration at the Spokane YMCA to honor her dad - a single father who raised six children. Her love for her father sparked a national tradition that we still celebrate today!

Today, we continue to celebrate and support fathers, father figures and families of all kinds - building strong communities together.

At our Breakfast of Champions for Youth, we shared Amy’s Y story as a reminder that hope can be rebuilt and shared.

Amy’s journey with the Y began during a time of crisis, when she was welcomed into the YMCA of Reading & Berks County’s housing program.

Years later, the Y became part of her family’s story through Y-Care, summer camp, and the belonging her son found through caring staff.

After the loss of her mother, group fitness became Amy’s anchor: a place to breathe, connect, move, and begin healing.

Today, Amy teaches group fitness at the YMCA, giving back the same encouragement and strength that once helped her.

Donor support helps make programs like these possible, giving people and families across our community a place to find healing, belonging, and strength.
