Last Friday, we welcomed a sold-out crowd to Caron’s 24th Annual Greater Philadelphia Community Awards Breakfast, bringing together community leaders, advocates, healthcare professionals, and supporters united by a shared commitment to recovery.

The morning celebrated individuals whose leadership and service are making a meaningful impact in prevention, treatment, education, recovery support, and community outreach. We were honored to recognize this year’s award recipients, including Tom Connell, Patty DiRenzo, Hope Rice, Corp. Leo Doyle, Dr. Jeanmarie Perrone, Erin Ryan, Sister Margie Walsh, SSJ., and many others whose work continues to bring hope and help to individuals and families affected by substance use disorder.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make this year’s event such a success. Together, we are raising awareness, strengthening communities, and helping more people find Recovery for Life.

Music has the power to bring people together, spark conversations, and inspire change.

Through a partnership between Music Matters and Caron Treatment Centers, supporters gathered at Garcia's at The Cap for an evening of live music and community in support of musicians and entertainers in recovery, and those impacted by the opioid crisis.

Featuring performances by One Good Deed and The Chompers, along with special guest Tommy Stinson, the event highlighted the impact that connection, recovery, and shared purpose can have both on and off the stage.

Thank you to Miles Rubin, Jeff Hahn, Todd Whitmer, and everyone who helped make the evening such a success.

Special thanks to Aqua Moon Productions for capturing the spirit of the event and producing this video.

“My recovery can’t wait.”

Joe was in the middle of a drug-induced psychosis when he realized he might not survive long enough to get help. His family was scared. He felt hopeless. Then he got the call that changed everything: Caron had a bed available — and the support he needed to begin recovery.

Today, Joe is a husband, father, and living proof that recovery can change a life and a family forever.

Your support helps make stories like Joe’s possible for the next person who needs hope, healing, and a chance to rebuild.

Recovery, mental health, and workforce wellbeing are deeply interconnected, and creating healthier workplaces requires collaboration, innovation, and leadership.

As part of the Recovery-Oriented Systems, Innovation, and Workforce Wellbeing Symposium, hosted by University of East London in partnership with Vanderbilt University at Vanderbilt’s New York City campus, attendees heard from Rebecca Brock Dixon, a member of Caron Treatment Centers’ New York Regional Advisory Board, and Todd Whitmer, National Gift Officer at Caron Treatment Centers, during a fireside chat titled, “Leadership Perspectives on Recovery, Wellness, and Workplace Transformation.”

Drawing on their personal and professional experiences, Rebecca and Todd explored how leaders can help build healthier workplaces, stronger communities, and more resilient systems of care while reducing stigma and supporting recovery.

As Todd shared, “What an honor to chat with Rebecca and to be with Major Brock and such a dignified and intelligent gathering of individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing this important conversation on recovery, wellness, and workplace transformation.”

Thank you to everyone helping move this important conversation forward.

We’re honored to be featured in Variety following Caron’s 32nd Annual New York Gala, where more than $1.7 million was raised to support individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder.

Substance use disorder affects millions of individuals and families, yet stigma remains one of the greatest barriers to seeking help. Coverage like this helps raise awareness and remind people that treatment works and recovery is possible.

Held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City, this year’s Gala honored music industry legend Daniel Glass with the Thomas J. Moran Caron Music Award and the Brock-Dixon Family with the Richard J. Caron Award of Excellence for their leadership, generosity, and commitment to recovery.

Funds raised through the Gala support Caron's Mission Fund, helping provide treatment scholarships and access to addiction and behavioral healthcare services, as well as recovery support, prevention programs, research, and addiction medicine education.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the event, and helped make this incredible evening possible.

When cravings are the loudest thing in the room, it’s hard to hear anything else. Emerging research is exploring whether GLP-1 medications may help turn down that volume.

In a recent episode of the Resilient Butterfly podcast, Caron’s Dr. Steven Klein joined Pam Feinberg to discuss emerging research around GLP-1 medications and their potential role in addiction treatment. The conversation explores cravings, relapse, genetics, and how advances in neuroscience are helping reshape our understanding of recovery.

Whether you’re a clinician, a family member, or someone seeking support, this thoughtful discussion offers insight into one of the most talked-about areas in addiction medicine today.
