Formed in 1978 by the leadership of community health centers, NCCHCA is comprised of membership from each of the 39 health center grantees, 3 Look-alike organizations, and other partners. These health center grantees and Look-alikes operate over 270 clinical sites and served nearly 600,000 patients in 2018. The North Carolina Community Health Center Association was created to advance the common m

ission of health centers across the state. NCCHCA represents the interests of North Carolina’s health centers to federal, state, and local agencies and officials. The Association also seeks support from foundations, corporations, and other private entities to increase access to primary health care for all North Carolinians. NCCHCA’s staff serves on state and national coalitions and task forces to foster collaboration, leverage resources, and avoid duplication of services. NCCHCA is a valuable resource to health centers, providing training and technical assistance in areas such as clinical service delivery, governance, workforce development, and administration. NCCHCA regularly presents workshops, trainings, and conferences to keep health center staff on the cutting edge of effective and cost-efficient service delivery. The Association consistently analyzes key issues facing health centers and provides our members with critical information in a timely fashion. In addition, the Association helps communities to create new health centers or expand existing ones.

📣 Maternal Health Funding Application Is "Live" 📣

PATCH-NC (Perinatal Access to Care and Health in North Carolina) was launched to help close significant maternal health access gaps, which contribute to delayed prenatal care, increased travel burdens, and persistent rural disparities in maternal and infant outcomes.

North Carolina Community Health Center Association--in partnership with Nurture NC (w/ Shannon Dowler) and The Leon Levine Foundation --is inviting community health centers (FQHCS and look-alikes), rural health centers, and local health departments to apply for funding to help expand access to high-quality maternity care in rural North Carolina.

The application (www.surveymonkey.com/r/KDMCCTP) is designed to assess organizations' readiness to implement a family physician-led shared maternity care model. The deadline is August 31.

On the first day of , Administrator Tom Engels, joined by HHS Region 4 Regional Director Dr. Samantha Brown-Parks and North Carolina Community Health Center Association President and CEO Chris Shank, presented Lincoln Community Health Center, Inc CEO Claretta Foye with two national quality recognitions for heart health and overall clinical quality—including Gold status among the nation’s top 10% of health centers.

The moment recognized Lincoln’s commitment to high-quality, coordinated care for the Durham community. Lincoln serves more than 35,000 patients with primary care, behavioral health, substance use disorder services, and patient support in one trusted community setting.

Congratulations to the entire Lincoln team!

Thank you to The C. W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc and CEO Debra Weeks for hosting our NCCHCA colleagues Katherine Jackson and Karthic Radhakrishnan at Saturday's Back-to-School Fair.

C.W. Williams has been a cornerstone of the Charlotte-area community for 45 years. They serve approximately 13,000 patients annually, and as we saw on Saturday, they support thousands more each year with services that go beyond medical care.

They don't merely see people as patients. They see people as people. That's inspiring. That's C.W. Williams.

Perinatal Access to Care and Health in North Carolina (PATCH NC) is a multi-year statewide effort to expand access to prenatal and postpartum care in rural and underserved communities through a Shared Maternity Care model. NCCHCA leads this project in partnership with Nurture NC re NC and with funding support from The Leon Levine Foundation.

PATCH NC is seeking applications for an Implementation Manager, who will be responsible for providing operational leadership for this initiative. The application deadline is August 17.

Today, we continue to celebrate the incredible people who make CommWell Health what it is—our staff!

As a token of appreciation, our very own "Veggie Heads" hit the road to personally deliver fresh produce boxes from Lee's Produce NC to team members at all of our locations. It was a fun way to say thank you to the people who work every day to improve the health and well-being of our communities.

The theme, "Rooted in Community, Harvesting Wellness, Cultivating Health" perfectly reflects who we are. Whether caring for patients, supporting teammates, or serving our communities, our staff embodies that mission every day.
