One chapter finished, and a brand new one about to begin. 🎓

During our final week of Spring programs, we celebrated the end of another joyful year of Early Learning Club, complete with graduation parties, proud smiles, and lots of excitement for what’s next.

Seven of our students will head to Kindergarten this fall, carrying with them new confidence, growing independence, stronger English skills, and a love of learning that has been nurtured all year long. The rest will stay around for another year of learning before it's their turn for Kindergarten!

We’re so proud of these students and grateful for every volunteer, teacher, and supporter who helped make this year possible. Here’s to a summer full of play and a big next step ahead. 💛

Bingo, ice cream parties, and lots of celebrating to close out the spring semester 🍦🎉

Last week, our Homework Help sites wrapped up an incredible season of learning and community with end-of-semester celebrations across all four program locations. This spring, 319 students participated in Homework Help - showing up week after week ready to learn, grow, laugh, and support one another along the way.

We’re leaving this spring feeling grateful for every student, volunteer, and family who helped make these programs such special spaces. Summer, here we come! ☀️

Eye contact. A firm handshake. A smile.

There are unspoken expectations in the workplace that can become barriers for newcomers navigating a new culture, language, and job environment.

This semester, we introduced a new workforce readiness component to our ESL program to help bridge that gap -- because no one’s ability to contribute, provide for their family, and thrive should be limited by unfamiliar customs alone.

And because we’re RHP, we made it educational AND fun 🤩

After months of lessons during English class, students celebrated with a Job Readiness Rally featuring:
💼 Mock interviews
📝 Resume support
🤝 Interview etiquette games
🩺 A CNA career presentation
✨ Customer service role play
👂 Team listening challenges
🎯 Prizes, a spin wheel, and even a musical chairs-style game about what it means to be on time

We are so proud of our students for showing up with courage, curiosity, and confidence as they prepare for new opportunities ahead! 🎉

"Young people's voices deserve to be heard and deserve to be seen."

This thought led to the creation of the Literacy and Community Initiative (LCI) at NC State University, which partners with community-based organizations to examine and empower youth voices. We've had the honor of partnering with LCI to amplify student voices for the last 5 years!

We are so proud of these students for their PUBLISHED book, 📕 Golden Lines: Voices from Refugee Hope Partners 📕, grateful to the North Carolina Museum of Art for hosting a wonderful Reading and Art Celebration last week, and thankful for the beautiful way that the legacy of beloved LCI creator and RHP champion, Dr. Crystal Chen Lee, echoes through these students so bravely and authentically sharing their stories through words and art. 💛

$240,000 raised. $110,000 to go.

Because of this community’s generosity, hundreds of refugee families are finding belonging, support, and opportunities to thrive here in Wake County. As we look toward the rest of 2026, we’re extending our Spring Campaign by ONE more week to help close the gap on our $350,000 goal and continue building toward what’s next.

This funding will specifically help us:
• Convert our Welcome Hub pilot into a more permanent hub and begin planning for a second hub
• Engage 615 refugee families in comprehensive wrap-around support - that's 60+ more families than we currently serve
• Walk alongside more families as they grow in stability, confidence, and independence through our Engagement Pathway

These are more than organizational goals. They represent families building community, parents gaining confidence, students finding support, and neighbors taking meaningful steps toward long-term thriving.

If you’ve been considering giving, this is the time to join us. Every gift helps move this work forward and brings us closer to the vision of all families thriving.

Happy Mother’s Day 🌷💚

Today, we honor the women who keep families steady in the middle of change. Across displacement, mothers so often become the center of care, decision-making, courage, and daily survival.

We celebrate the refugee mothers who have fled war, violence, and persecution to protect their children and build safer futures. Mothers who carry hope through uncertainty. Mothers who navigate unfamiliar systems, difficult journeys, and new beginnings with incredible resilience.

Their strength shapes families, communities, and futures every single day. Today, and every day, we stand with them. 🌍

2026 so far, by the numbers 📊🧡

🙋‍♂58 first-time volunteers
📚170 students attended homework help
👩‍⚕️191 health & wellness appointments completed
🤝3,500 volunteer hours shared with our community
And we’re still going.

With just TWO days remaining in our spring campaign, we’ve now raised $186,000 toward our $350,000 goal. There’s still meaningful ground to cover before May 11 — and every gift helps us keep saying “yes” again and again: yes to support, yes to opportunity, and yes to the families who count on our community every day. The finish line is almost here—and we need you to help carry us across. 🏁

With less than one week remaining, we’ve raised $170,000 toward our $350,000 goal. There’s still meaningful ground to cover before May 11.

Just like race day, every step counts. Every gift builds on another. And every “yes” creates more opportunity for the 564 families we serve.

Will you go the distance with us?

Give now and help us finish strong. 🧡
