As part of one of the nation’s oldest veterans’ service organizations, our members are relatives of those who served overseas in areas of foreign conflict. We stand beside VFW Post 10999 in honoring the service and sacri

fice of America’s veterans. Locally, we volunteer time, raise funds, and organize programs that provide direct support to veterans and military families in our community. Nationally, our Auxiliary contributes to legislation advocacy, scholarships for youth, and volunteer work within the VA medical system. Together, we are committed to improving the lives of veterans and ensuring their service is never forgotten.

September is National Service Dog Month!

Which means this is a great time to share reminders about service dog etiquette!

When dogs are working, it is important not to distract them, as this may impede their ability to do their assigned tasks (potentially putting their handler at risk). This includes military and police dogs, guide dogs, seizure detection dogs, PTSD assistance dogs, allergy detection dogs, dogs helping children and service-dogs-in-training, among others.
