We're so proud of Ms. Alexandra on being the inaugural winner of this important award! 🙌🏽

On World Teachers Day, we want to shout out 2026 Stormwater Smart Award winner, Alexandra van Dorsten at Exploris Middle School! 🧑‍🏫 She organizes stream clean-ups, guides storm drain murals, & connects students with their watersheds. 👏

Urban Air. Ruckus Pizza. Cold Stone. Mellow Mushroom. Sky Zone. Culver's. Jersey Mike's. Zaxby's. Torchy's. Adventure Landing. Great Clips. Ace Hardware.

That's twelve of the 250+ Triangle spots in the GoPlaySave app, which adds up to more than $12,000 in local savings for $35. It's good through November 30, 2027, so it covers this school year and most of the next one.

Every code sold helps send the Exploris 8th grade class on their Outward Bound expedition this spring. Good deal, good cause, and you were probably going to Ruckus anyway. 🍕

Closes Friday, September 25.

In April, our 8th graders head into the field for a week with Outward Bound. Between now and then, they're selling GoPlaySave coupon books (which are now digital!).

Here's the part that surprises people: this is not a donation. $35 gets you a mobile app with more than 250 Triangle merchants and $12,000+ in local savings, good all the way through November 30, 2027. Urban Air, Ruckus Pizza, Cold Stone, Sky Zone, Mellow Mushroom, Great Clips, Ace Hardware. If you eat out or take kids anywhere around here, it pays for itself fast.

You save. They go.

Sale closes Friday, September 25.

We wondered what this year's 8th-grade graduates love about Exploris. So we asked them!

The answers were genuine, sometimes silly, and a good reminder of what makes this place feel like home: The friendships, the freedom to be themselves, the sense that everyone here knows everyone else. 💜

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. We can't wait to see where you go next. 🌎 We’ll miss you! So. Much.

We made the list! 🎉 The News & Observer named Exploris among the best schools in Raleigh. The recognition is great, but the real win is what happens here every day: a tight-knit community, hands-on learning, and big-hearted kids growing into changemakers. Come see it for yourself. Middle school is one of the biggest transitions of a child's life. New teachers, new hallways, bigger crowds — and the question every parent is quietly asking: will they be okay?

At Exploris, your child won't just be okay. They'll be known.

Every teacher calls them by name. Every day. They'll be outside learning and exploring multiple times a day. They'll tackle real projects that connect to their community and the wider world. And they'll be part of a diverse, welcoming school where every child belongs — fully, as they are.

Exploris is a free public charter school in downtown Raleigh, now enrolling rising 6th & 7th graders for 2026–27. Spaces are limited.
