Have Fun. Stay Safe.

Nothing beats cooling off on a hot summer day, but water safety should always come first.

Remember to:
• Swim with a buddy
• Wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket when boating or paddling
• Swim only in designated areas
• Never dive into unknown water
• Know your swimming limits
• Keep a close eye on children around water

Strong swimmers still follow water safety rules.

Two new merit badges just dropped and they couldn’t be more different.

Wildland Fire Management and Competitive Gaming have officially graduated from the Merit Badge Test Lab and are available for Scouts to earn now.

— Wildland Fire Management gives Scouts a look at the science, skills and careers behind protecting our forests and public lands. The badge was developed with the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Forest Service and Society of American Foresters, along with Smokey Bear. https://www.scouting.org/merit-badges/wildland-fire-management/

— Competitive Gaming explores the strategy, teamwork and skills behind competitive play.

Currently in the Test Lab are Auctioneering, Physics, Sewing & Needlework, Dance, Psychology, and Military Service & Veterans.
