Invisible Girl Project saves girls' lives by fighting to end female gendercide in India.

We rescue and care for girls and promote the worth of all females in Indian society.

Every girl deserves the opportunity to grow up safe, receive an education, and build a future filled with possibility.

Yet, poverty continues to create barriers that limit girls' access to these opportunities, particularly in communities where girls face discrimination and unequal access to resources.

On the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, Invisible Girl Project reaffirms its commitment to protecting girls and creating pathways for them to thrive.

Through rescue, care, child sponsorship, empowerment, and prevention education, we work alongside communities in India to help build a future where every girl is valued and has the opportunity to reach her full potential.

Ending poverty means ensuring no girl is left behind in India.

With more than two decades of experience in human rights, development, education, and social impact, Anu brings deep leadership experience and a strong commitment to advancing opportunities for communities across South Asia.

In her new role, Anu will help lead IGP's regional partnerships, programs, and growth as we enter our next chapter.

After 15 years of building IGP's foundation, her leadership marks an important step forward in our mission to protect girls, challenge gender discrimination, and build a future where every girl is valued.

What if we could intervene before a girl ever became vulnerable?

Prevention Education helps communities examine the beliefs and practices that contribute to discrimination against girls and equips the next generation to think differently.

Prevention is a major part of how lasting change begins in the culture.

Our team has made big strides over the last several months with our Prevention Education! We have trained families, community leaders, and law enforcement. We cannot wait to carry this momentum into the end of the year!

When a girl is rescued from an unsafe situation, our involvement doesn't end there.

Safety is the first step in her rescue. From there comes care, stability, education, and the opportunity to begin building a future beyond the circumstances that put her at risk.

There is a question that changes the way we approach problems:

"What would it take to prevent this?"

Instead of waiting for harm to happen to girls, prevention asks us to look upstream.

What beliefs need to be challenged?

What information is missing?

What support do families need?

What opportunities should be available?

What conversations aren't happening yet?

These questions don't produce instant answers.

But they can produce something more lasting: change at the source.

At Invisible Girl Project, prevention is central to our work because protecting girls means working toward a world where fewer girls need to be rescued in the first place.

"I never knew there was a way to stop it," a student said after our team taught 9th and 10th grade boys about female gendercide.

Our team spoke about the value of girls during one Awareness and Prevention session.

The boys had great questions and were engaged with the lesson.

We are so excited to continue reaching the next generation, and seeing transformation happen among youth!

What does peace look like for a girl?

It looks like going to school without fear.

It looks like being safe in her own home.

It looks like growing up without being forced into marriage.

It looks like knowing her life has value.

On the International Day of Peace, we're reminded that peace is more than the absence of conflict.

Peace is the presence of safety, dignity, justice, and the freedom to build a future.

For girls in India facing violence, discrimination, and exploitation, that kind of peace is still out of reach.

We believe every girl deserves to know what it feels like to be safe.
