Education is only part of the story.

This season, girls in our Child Sponsorship Program completed board exams, attended career guidance sessions, participated in summer skill-building camps, and received ongoing emotional support from social workers and counselors.

One girl, after struggling deeply with family challenges and isolation, finished her 10th grade exams with strong scores and renewed confidence.

Another group of girls spent their summer developing leadership, teamwork, and English skills.

This is why sponsorship matters.

It doesn't just help a girl stay in school. It helps surround her with the support, encouragement, and opportunities she needs to build a different future.

There are more than 700 million girls and women who live in India.

Yet, girls are still more likely than boys to be pushed out of school.

Studies show "the likelihood of out-of-school girls is at least 16% higher than that of boys."

This is why fighting for education matters.

With Mother's Day around the corner, we are highlighting Mehar* and her twin daughters.

Mehar was privileged to earn her education. Yet, she was married young.

This photo was taken one week after Mehar's husband tragically passed away, leaving Mehar and their twin daughters.

Now a widow, Mehar faces many societal pressures to remarry and force her ten-year old daughters to leave school to work.

However, she told our team that she would "fight to give her girls the opportunity to stay in school" and study like she did.

This mother, who has lost so much, clings to the hope that her daughters will have a bright future.

We are so thankful Mehar's daughters have Child Sponsors, so they can grow into strong women.

Behind so many rescued girls is a mother who refused to give up on her daughter.

At Invisible Girl Project, we've met mothers who walk miles to keep their daughters in school, mothers who quietly push back against cultural pressure, and mothers who choose courage even when it comes at a great cost to them.
