This photo? Proof that the right rooms don’t just give women a seat at the table—they give them the mic.

At the inaugural Lit for the Culture™, we brought together powerhouse women for two conversations rooted in exactly what this experience was created to amplify:

Pages, Power & Presence — owning our stories, taking up space, and understanding the power of being seen, heard, and published.

Legacy, Liberation & Leadership — moving beyond the moment to build impact, create access, and leave something meaningful behind.

And THIS is what happens when those conversations collide.

Different stories. Different industries. Different journeys. One room filled with women who understand that our voices are not an accessory to culture.

They shape it.

Over 100 attendees showed up for year one, proving there is both a need AND an audience for spaces where Black stories, creativity, leadership, and community are centered unapologetically.

We didn’t just host panels.

We documented what happens when our stories become strategy, our presence becomes power, and our leadership becomes legacy.

And this was only Chapter One.

Chapter One was the proof.

The Next Chapter is the expansion.

In our inaugural year, Lit for the Culture™ welcomed 100+ attendees, authors, creatives, speakers, vendors, and community partners to Raleigh for an experience rooted in story, culture, connection, and community.

The response confirmed what we already believed: there is room—and demand—for what we are building.

On March 27, 2027, we return for Lit for the Culture™: The Next Chapter.

And this time, we’re opening the story even wider.

Speaker proposals, author and illustrator submissions, sponsors, and vendor applications are now open.

If your work moves people, challenges perspectives, preserves our stories, or pushes the culture forward, we want to hear from you.

We wrote the first chapter together.
Now, let’s see what happens when we turn the page.

Our tribe just got a little bigger… and we’re just getting started. 👀

Yesterday, we welcomed a few members of our newest cohort into the Black Girl Social Club Raleigh-Durham family with an experience rooted in connection, belonging, and intentional sisterhood.

Through curated Story Boards and an exclusive first look at Words That Stay by Ryanne Janel, we laughed, shared, reflected, and connected beyond the surface.

But here’s the part that got me: they showed up to be celebrated, and somehow, in true sisterhood fashion, they ended up carrying me too.

After such a full weekend, I didn’t realize how much I needed that room.

And our amazing food sponsors and made sure our ladies were WELL taken care of!

This is what we’re building—not just events, but a community where women genuinely pour back into one another.

The tribe is growing. And there’s MORE. Stay tuned. ❤️

Y’all really did that. 🥹🖤

Every ticket. Every share. Every repost. Every “I’m coming.” Every word of encouragement. Every person who believed in this vision—THANK YOU.

There were moments when I genuinely didn’t know how this would come together, but what looked like a setback turned out to be divine alignment.

Now the room is full. The vision is alive. And Saturday, we get to experience it together.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for riding this thing out with me.
