That is a wrap on Arts Together Summer Camp 2026! ☀️ What a summer it has been. From the first week to the last, our campers showed up with big imaginations, curious minds, and open hearts.

Big news at Arts Together! 🌈💃🎨 We’re thrilled to welcome Ginnie Huntley as our next Executive Director!

Ginnie brings years of experience as an elementary school teacher and assistant principal, along with a lifelong connection to Arts Together. She understands the creativity, joy, and sense of belonging that make our preschool, dance programs, and community so special.

What do ice cream, history, and movement have in common? A whole lot of learning and joy! 🍦

This summer, our Director of Community Arts Programming, Nikki Dublin Turner, partnered with Communities In Schools of Wake County (CIS) to bring a one of a kind arts experience to students in our community. Students explored the history of the ice cream scoop, learned about efficiency and supply and demand through a hands-on experiment, and then created a movement phrase inspired by the ingredients and motions of making ice cream.

The smiles at the end when everyone got to taste the final product said it all.

At Arts Together, we believe that when organizations come together, we can create stronger support systems and greater access to the arts for children and families across our community.

We are grateful for our partnership with Communities In Schools and look forward to continuing to grow together.

This past June, Arts Together had the honor of being part of something truly special.

We were proud to partner with Wake Up and Read, Marbles Kids Museum, Wake County Public Libraries, Quail Ridge Books, and Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Space for a Juneteenth celebration at Gooch Farms.

The event featured acclaimed children's author Kelly Starling Lyons celebrating the release of her newest book, Riding Magic, illustrated by E. B. Lewis.

Through storytelling, literacy activities, and community engagement, families came together to celebrate the joy of reading, the richness of Black stories, and the spirit of Juneteenth. It was a beautiful reminder of what is possible when communities come together around the arts, books, and shared experiences.

Moments like these reflect exactly why we do what we do. We are grateful to our community partners and to every family who joined us for this wonderful celebration.
