As the holiday season rolls around, so do the increased scam attempts. Scammers often ask victims to purchase gift cards and give them the code to pay off an outstanding debt. If you have concerns over the validity of a phone call/email, please hang up and call the correct phone number for the business that is calling. Businesses should not be requesting gift cards as a form of payment. You can also reach out to your local law enforcement or bank for help with verifying if a call is legitimate.
