Today our presentation was Crystal Lynn, RN Program Director with Senior Life Solutions with UT Health Quitman. She discussed the importance of mental wellness in regards to our seasoned citizens.

It was a wonderful program and several walked away with the knowledge that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Speak up if your struggling and if your not struggling at the moment, speak out against the stigma.

This weeks presentation will be Crystal Lynn to tell us about UT Healths newest program, Senior Life Solutions.

If you or someone you know are around 65 or older, and struggling with grief, life changes, anxiety or depression we encourage you to come to hear this presentation Thursday at 12!

You do not have to be a member to join us for lunch and we meet at the Red Dome Smokehouse in Quitman!

We are excited to have this program available and look forward to hearing more about it.

It’s not a matter of “if” you will need this for yourself or a loved one, but a matter of when.

Quitman (and our neighboring clubs) at it again this month in leading the charge of feeding families with East Texas Food Bank. Quitman and Mineola Rotary clubs could not pull this off month after month without our awesome volunteers! THANK YOU for helping us in our efforts of feeding families.

From Area Governor and Past President Bill Martin:

ETFB delivered 14,175 lbs of potatoes, carrots, watermelons and cabbage that was distributed to 314 families and 2 local Food Pantries located in Mineola and Winnsboro. Each pantry received ~350 lbs of potatoes and carrots.
Temperatures in the mid 80-90s by the time we ended with a light but intermittent breeze.

The eclipse happened August 12,2026 shortly before sunset!

Last Saturday Quitman Rotary Club was represented by a future member who attended the Meet the Bulldogs event! We love serving our community in all aspects no matter the age!

Thank you Pete for representing us well with integrity and helping others! We are excited to watch you grow as a young man and excited to see what you will continue to do. You’ve been a great advocate for us!

We are thankful to our community and Rotarians who shared in our back to school supply drive for the Wood County SSA!

The staff and champions are so precious and deserving of every thing that you all sent in, to make their school days run as efficiently and fun as possible.

We look forward in helping you throughout the year and cherish our relationship with each of you over the past several years.

Thursday our club was visited by District Governor Diane Kavanaugh who brought an exhilarating message kicking off the 2026/2027 year.

She also recognized our Past District Governor Dr. Phil Bandel for being the longest tenured member and he is a wealth of Rotary knowledge that the newer members are grateful for.

We are ecstatic to see the work she will continue across District 5830 and look forward to additional visits.
