Today marks the anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944, when Allied forces launched the largest amphibious invasion in history on the beaches of Normandy, France. More than 156,000 American, British, and Canadian troops stormed the heavily fortified coastline in a pivotal operation that helped turn the tide of World War II.

On this day, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the men who faced overwhelming odds in the fight for freedom. Their bravery changed the course of history and secured liberties that continue to be cherished today.

We remember those who gave their lives and thank all who served. Lest we forget.
