This season, other kids are dreaming about what's under the tree. One child sits alone at the kitchen table with a cup of ramen, staring out the window at the lights across the street, wondering if they were that invisible. Were they that invisible? Not to us, and not to you.

Every holiday season, we pack weekend food bags and warm meals for kids right here in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia, and it starts with someone deciding not to look away. You can make sure no child is skipped this year. As we delivered this morning to our displaced families and children today one question I was asked. “Could you bring us toys?” 🧸. The children and families had to leave so fast the children don’t have their favorite toy to play with.

So the needs this coming week are:
Gas cards
Hygiene items
Laundry detergent
Donations for food and other essential supplies
New small toys. The hotel rooms are tiny. Activity books, play-do, board games.

One person needs one or two pairs of a size men’s Med sweatpants please.

Friday and weekend bags are packed on all our rows of seats. We did our first drop offs at the hotels where the families are today. We will be back each day this weekend making sure they are okay and giving lots of love and snacks for the kiddos. And we brought a bag of clothes and new socks to one teen that wasn’t able to get her clothes in time. Thank you for donating so we could purchase this much needed food.

Needed items - Gas Cards, kids snacks, donations to purchase the groceries, quarters and detergent for the laundry machines and hygiene items.

Nearly 60 people were displaced from the Purcellville East apartment complex Oct. 29 after Loudoun County Department of Building and Development issued an emergency unsafe-structure order.
