🇺🇸🎶 Fun Fact Friday! 🎶 🇺🇸

Did you know the 1976 Bicentennial wasn’t just one big national celebration? More than 12,000 communities across America were officially recognized for creating their own hometown events.

Community bands helped bring those celebrations to life with patriotic music, and we’re proud to carry on that tradition as we provide the soundtrack for tomorrow’s fireworks at Franklin Park in Purcellville.

We hope you’ll join us for a wonderful Fourth of July celebration! 🇺🇸🎆

Did you know John Philip Sousa wrote The Stars and Stripes Forever while sailing home from Europe in 1896?

He later said the entire march came to him in his head before he ever put a note on paper. Today, it’s the official National March of the United States!

Our concert features Dromedar by Gunhild Carling. 🐪

A dromedary camel is famous for endurance, and apparently so are our flute players.

In Dromedar, flute 2 doesn’t play a note until measure 92. After all that waiting, the reward is entering in a key signature with seven flats. 😄
