VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Join Environment Rhode Island in counting wildlife along roads between Oct. 2 and 11 as part of the 2026 Roadside Wildlife Count. Volunteers will use the ROaDs app created by to track the impacts of roads on wildlife this fall. The Roadless Area Conservation Rule has protected our wild forests for more than 25 years.

We agree with Senator Jack Reed. The 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule should not be rolled back.

Our national parks need our help. The National Park Service has an almost $23 billion dollar maintenance backlog. No one wants to drive on crumbling roads to a neglected campground or find trails closed when they’re trying to enjoy nature.

Congress needs to reauthorize funding for fixing our parks.

The Senate is working on a bi-partisan bill that would reauthorize funding but the House of Representatives hasn’t acted yet.
