Congrats to Lance Richardson, longtime LitArts RI Member and author of True Nature, recently named a finalist for the 2026 Pulitzer Prize! Lance’s biography of Peter Matthiessen, part of which he wrote at our creative workspace, is now on display in our local author library. Stop through to take a look. Cheers!

Every first Friday of the month you’ll find LitArts RI down the street at Riffraff Bookstore + Bar for the ever-popular Open Mic Night. June is no different! Join us Fri, June 5 at 7pm for another evening of performances from local creatives. Arrive to the bookstore early if you’d like to put your name in the jar for a chance to share five minutes of work. See you then.

What a gorgeous day to write! Thanks to everyone who joined LitArts RI for an offsite write-in with our friends at Little Nice Workshop in Lincoln, RI. Over 35 writers gathered inside the studio spaces and out along the banks for the Blackstone River to work on writing projects in an inspired new environment! 2nd and 4th Tues of the month from 6-7:30pm starting Tues, May 26

The Experimental Fiction Writing Group facilitated by Kim Schebler
1st Wed of the month from 6-8pm at LitArts RI starting Wed, June 3

Persons Living with Disabilities Writing Group facilitated by Maria Grande
3rd Saturday of the month from 11:30am-1pm at LitArts RI starting Sat, June 20

Guided Memoir Group: Writing Down the Bones facilitated by Cartier Tracy
2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from 12:30-2pm at LitArts RI starting Sat, June 13
