The mission of Haven Box is to collectively support survivors of sexual and relational harm and their journeys forward. Through our core comfort box program, we aim to address unmet needs and foster long-term healing with post-crisis support services that nurture the individual mind, body, spirit and community connection.

🌈 Join us for Q***r Agencies: Renaming My Body an Altar — a PRIDE poetry workshop centering q***r and trans survivors of sexual & domestic violence.

📖 Together, we'll explore how poetry reclaims agency, honors intimacy, and reimagines our bodies as sacred beyond harm. Featuring work by Akwaeke Emezi, m. mick powell, Brittany Rogers, and more.

Wednesday, June 25, 5:30pm-7:30pm at United Way, Providence. ✨ Open to q***r & trans survivors.

About the Facilitator:

Ren L[i]u (they/he/他) is a multiply disabled, transmasculine poet and transformative justice practitioner working in the movement to end domestic/sexual abuse. Their artistic work takes the form of poetry, spoken word/performance, and needle felted objects and tapestries. Ren is a 2023 Zoeglossia Disability Poetics Fellow and works toward anti-carceral survivor justice as Associate Director of Communications and Outreach for JDI: the Massachusetts Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence.

Join us and our friend Mary Jane of Bathing RI this Saturday for a mindfulness walk in nature. Forest Bathing has many benefits like:

Wow! Our hearts are still full from the incredible weekend we had.

On Saturday we held our first ever Community Boxing Day where over 75 incredible volunteers from the community and The Church of Latter-day Saints mobilized to help us pack 500 comfort boxes and survivor bundles.

Then on Monday, we held a community healing event with ear acupuncture, chair yoga, DIY herbal tea station and gifts. Connections were made, tears were shed, and healing was deepened. 💛

Thank you to our incredible collaborators, Providence Community Acupuncture, Iyengar Yoga Source, and Wellspring Apothecary.

We are so, so full. 💛
