We are thrilled to share some exciting news — our very own Rory Carmody, Director of Workforce Development at AccessPoint RI, has been recognized by the Rhode Island Public Health Association as their 2025 Public Health Champion Award Recipient! 🎉

Rory has dedicated over 27 years to empowering individuals with disabilities to live full and meaningful lives. Her passion for inclusion and her tireless advocacy have changed countless lives across Rhode Island.

Just last month, Rory was honored as our Employee Trailblazer at our 60th Anniversary Gala — and now, the broader community is celebrating her remarkable impact too.

This week Jeff, John, and Evan from MA-APSE had the opportunity to visit Red White & Brew Coffeehouse in Warwick, RI.

Red, White, and Brew is not just a coffee shop. It is a hub of entrepreneurialism that was launched by Michael and his mother Lisa Coyne with the support of Sue Babin of RIDDC.

You may not find your way to Warwick soon, but you can learn more about Sue and RIDDC's entrepreneurial efforts by attending the breakout session "Supporting Entrepreneurs to become Successful Business Owners."

If you're looking for creative ways to catalyze the careers of people with disabilities, this is not a session to miss!

“Employment is one of the surest ways to give people dignity.” — Unknown

Work is more than a paycheck. It’s about purpose, contribution, and belonging. For young adults with disabilities, access to meaningful employment opens doors to independence and self-confidence.

When families, teachers, and communities work together to create inclusive opportunities, we help students find dignity in their work and in themselves.

Have a good week, y’all!
