Now Hiring: Drug-Free Communities Coordinator

The McDowell County Commission on Aging is seeking a motivated individual to serve as our Drug-Free Communities Coordinator. This full-time position pays $36,000 per year and requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

The coordinator’s work will focus on:
Youth engagement and mentoring
Coalition development
Substance-use prevention initiatives
Media and educational content development
Community outreach and partnership building

Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are preferred.

🚭 V**e Disposal Stations are now at Bluefield State!

We’re excited to continue expanding safe v**e disposal options in our community with new disposal stations placed at Bluefield State University! 💨🗑️

V**es contain lithium-ion batteries and other materials that should never be tossed into regular trash. Providing designated disposal locations gives students a safer, more responsible way to get rid of unwanted or used va**ng devices.
But these boxes are about more than disposal—they’re another opportunity to make prevention visible, start conversations about va**ng, and encourage healthier choices on campus. 💙
