The City of Princeton is pleased to announce that the 2025 Veterans Day Parade will take place on Tuesday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m.

The parade will begin on the lower end of Mercer Street and conclude at the Mercer County Courthouse. Participants are asked to line up at 10:00 a.m. in the Mercer Street Historical District.

The City of Princeton invites all local Veterans, their families, and members of the community to join in honoring the men and women who have served our country. This annual event provides an excellent opportunity for our community to come together and show appreciation for the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes.

For more information or to register to participate in the parade, please contact the Princeton Vet Center at 304-425-8098.

One of the best little West Virginia spots to step back in time is Bramwell’s Corner Shop & Soda Fountain in the tiny town of Bramwell. Here, you can enjoy one of the state’s best milkshakes inside a beautifully restored 1910 pharmacy. The original marble soda fountain, cherry wood counters, and stained-glass lights are all still there. Old-fashioned milkshakes, banana splits, tall sundaes, and vintage sodas are the stars, along with hand-pattied burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches named after 1950s icons like the “James Dean.” With friendly staff in retro soda jerk uniforms, it’s pure small-town nostalgia.

For two months, three friends have had one goal: to make a real-life historically accurate HO scale layout of the Abingdon Branch Line.
