Lions Clubs International & the United Nations: A Legacy of Service

1945 — The Relationship Begins.
Lions leaders participated in activities surrounding the historic United Nations Charter Conference, marking the beginning of a longstanding relationship between Lions Clubs International and the United Nations.

For more than eight decades, Lions have remained committed to building a better world through service, collaboration, and humanitarian action.

Today, the work of Lions Clubs International is viewed as relevant, credible, and vital to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our service connects communities, inspires partnerships, and demonstrates what is possible when people come together to serve.

United Nations agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and individuals around the world are inspired to join Lions through membership and service.

This October 8-18, 2026, during our Vision Week of Service, Lions 'round the world join to expand their impact for these individuals and more, from developing and enhancing eye care systems, providing treatments, and distributing medications to those at high risk.

Amazing turn out overall for Arthur Murray Studio Fundraiser for the Sunshine Kids....PDG KashDelory, and Summit Lions President Jim Bennett joined IPDG John and many caring Lions and their guests! When the children with cancer and their parent talked to us at intermission, my heart melted. My heart always skips a beat or two when we see our Lions International mission and its pillars of service in action...blessings and kudos to all. Sunshine Kids provides kids with cancer a life of social interaction and fun outside of treatment.

District Governor’s Visit to Highland Park PhilAm Lions Club

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, District Governor Lion Subarna Sahni had the pleasure of visiting the Highland Park PhilAm Lions Club for a wonderful celebration of fellowship, service, and commitment to the Lions mission.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Lion Glecy Abaquita and Lion Maria Perly Fabella to our Lions family! DG Subarna had the honor of inducting both new members into Lions Clubs International. We look forward to their contributions and service to our community.

The evening also provided an opportunity to celebrate two dedicated Lions. On behalf of the International President, DG Subarna presented:

10-Year Monarch Chevron — Club President Lion Lorna Jaojoco
